Genie's Foresight

The connection between these three is simple: the Genie. While some people think that Genie's pop culture references mean that Aladdin takes place in a post-apocalyptic future. I, on the other hand, have a different theory. What if, per chance, Genie makes all these references because he's a seer. Disney has actually done this sort of character before in the form of Merlin from The Sword in the Stone. Merlin is shown to have a sort of soothsaying foresight into the future and reference modern-day, such as complaining about the Dark Ages not having indoor plumbing in his intro and being shown to have built a model airplane. Genie seems to have a similar style of foresight. Thus I propose that the references to Pinocchio and Little Mermaid mean that they take place in the same universe. Not to mention Merlin later travels to the future and Genie later goes to the future at the end of Aladdin in order to visit Disneyland.
