"Tae! Come over here and help me!" You wipe the sweat off your forehead using the back of your hand, frustrated.
Once he was done talking on the phone, Taehyung and you make your way to the large accommodation of apartment rooms and talk to the owner of the building. After explaining you were here to visit a friend, the two of you were let in and on your own to find Jackie's room number.
30 minutes and a headache from thinking too much later, you were outside her room, jiggling the doorknob as if that would magically open the door. Sadly, it didn't. But boy, did you wish it did.
"Jackie! Open the door!" You say loudly and hoped your voice reached the other side of the door.
By the sound of crying and hiccuping, it either didn't or Jackie was seriously ignoring you.
Just as you were about to bang on the door once more and demand to be let in, the door opens.
Not by magic, of course, but by a tall stranger with dark hair and thick lips.
Mr. Stranger raises a single eyebrow as his eyes skim down and examine your figure, squinting his eyes as if he recognized you from somewhere. Of course, that's not possible because you don't recognize him at all and you're sure you would if you had seem him before. He was quite the attractive fellow.
But not as attractive as Taehyung, a sneaky voice added.
Oh, shut it.
"How may I help you?" His voice was cool and soothing, and you felt relaxed listening to him speak.
"Uhm, would you happen to be Jackie's step-brother? And also, where is Jackie?" You try peaking over his shoulder but the stranger wasway too tall.
"Ah, yes, in fact, Jackie is— Jackie! A friend is here for you," the stranger called out. As he spoke more, you noticed that he had an accent similar to Taehyung's. However, it wasn't nearly as heavy and his English was much better.
But speaking of Taehyung, where is he?
You glance behind you to find Taehyung gone. Turning around and looking at both side of the hallway, you found that he was hiding around the corner of the left side.
"Tae! C'mon! Don't be a party-pooper and come meet my friend and her brother!" You try waving him over but he just shakes his head furiously.
"Hiccup—didn't I tell—hic—you to not—hic—come?" Jackie was now at the doorway, her arm wrapped around the stranger's shoulders as he held her up.
And from what you could tell, Jackie was utterly drunk. Mentally palm-facing, you should have seen this much coming. Of course Jackie wasn't one to make a big fuss over her family issues; that just isn't her personality. Jacquelyn Anderson wasn't one to mope about the depressing reality of situations nor actually reach out for help. And that in itself is a fault of hers.
"I should've known that everything was okay," you sigh, letting out a heavy breath.
"Uhm, I'm Kim Seok-Jin but you can just call me Jin," Jin introduced himself, stepping aside along with Jackie to make room for you to enter the apartment.
"Nice to meet you, Jin, I'm Y/N," you smiled, "and I came along with Taehyung but he's being a bit shy right now."
Jin chuckled softly, shaking his head as if he knew something that you didn't.
"I wouldn't worry much about him," Jin responded, walking over to sit Jackie gently down on the couch. It was a leather one and by the looks of it, it seemed to be one of the couches that extended so that the feet were out.
"Why don't you, ah, bring him over? He's probably just scared of my height," Jin teased, smiling shyly.
"But you guys seem to be around the same height," you retort, taking a seat next to Jackie.
"You never know," he shrugged, walking over to the open door way.
"Oi! Why don't you come over here and not leave your girly friend alone?!" Jin stood there with his hands on his hips, waiting.
"Ya, I hear, I hear," Tae responded, his voice off in the distance as you heard his footsteps getting louder as he came closer.
"Good grief," you mutter, glancing over at Jackie.
"Hey, you okay?" You lift your hand to touch her cheek; it was stick from sweat.
"GUH! You drank way too much and now your body is reacting to it," you murmur, taking your hand away from her cheek.
"H-h-he said I was horrible at dancing," Jackie cried, suddenly energetic.
"And w-w-when we started drinking, he said 'you can't—hiccup!—hold your liquor'," she wailed, sneezing.
"A-and that's why.. he hates me!" She tried reaching for the tissue box on the table in front of the two of your but fell short and nearly hit her chin on its edge.
"Jackie, calm down," you murmur, helping her get up and sit up straight.
"Jin doesn't seem to hate you. If he really hated you, would he have spent time with you to say all those things? I'm sure he was just messing around with you," you assure her, massaging her back as she sniffled.
"I-I-I suppo-o-ose so," Jackie said.
"But it's not fair to her!" Jin was no longer at the open door but outside the apartment, with the door closed.
"Yah, but.." Taehyung's voice trailed off, sounding meek and vulnerable.
What were they arguing about?
"Fine! Geugeos-eul dangsin-ui bangbeob-i." Jin opened the door and stomped back into the room, fairly angry. (A/n: translation- "have it your way")
Taehyung followed his suit, his head hanging low.
"Hey, what's the matter with you two?" You stand up and head over to Tae's side, putting a hand comfortingly on his forearm.
"Yah, good," he muttered, shaking you off gently.
"We just had, uh, disagreement," Jin replied sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.
"Do you two.. happen to know one another?" You raise an eyebrow, looking at Tae expectantly.
"No," he responded, looking down and refusing to meet your gaze.
You purse your lips into a fine line, not quite believing him. You saw Jin rolled his eyes, walking away and into the kitchen.
"Ah, well then. Anyways, Jin! Do you mind telling me how your parents met? Well, how did your parent meet Jackie's parent?" You walk into the kitchen, heading to the sink to wash your hands. Turning the faucet on, you reached for the hand soap.
"Sure, I guess," he responded curtly, taking out a large jug of milk from the fridge, "how does hot chocolate sound?"
"Perfect," you smile, turning off the faucet after rinsing the soap off your hands.

You guys are the absolute best :) Also, I must congratulate you guys for guessing the translation for the last chapter but you guys were slightly off :,) I actually meant for it to read "I'm going to be at your sister's place and you're going to have to pretend to not know me." Or something along those lines. Anyways, have a good night/day/evening!-Desiree💜
P.s. You guys should expect more BTS/kpop members to pop up, it's still a Taehyung X reader fanfic but I'll be adding more members just to spice things up 😉
