The morning bell rang.

"And then there were three."

I internally groaned.

"Now, for today's breakfast puppets, we're eating potatoes! Why, you ask? Because today's activity involves potatoes!"

Well, obviously, if you even care to mention that we're eating potatoes today...

We threw on our regular outfits and headed out to the arena.

"Sit in a triangle around the circle in the center of the arena."

We obeyed his orders.

"Chloe, Brynn, and Kalani. I knew you guys would make it this far. You guys were always my favorites."

"Your favorites to torture?" I said, sighing.

"Shut it, Kalani, before I change my mind and kill you right now."

I reluctantly shut up.

"Today we're playing hot potato."

Is he seriously just going to attack ALL of my childhood games?

The circle slowly rises, with an actual steaming potato on it.

"One twist, if you couldn't already tell, we're using an actual steaming hot potato. Have fun!"

I shivered.

"Kalani, pick it up."

I reluctantly pick it up. I already wanted to throw it across the room.

"Begin."

I quickly toss it to Chloe, then Chloe tosses it to Brynn and we just continue for what feels like hours.

"Stop! Drop it!" The abductor yells. I had the potato, so I set it on the floor, feeling my hands ache.

The circle rises once again with an even hotter potato on it.

We keep tossing and after thirty seconds, Brynn screams.

"I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!"

She throws the potato across the arena, waving her hands at her sides, trying to cool them off.

"Brynn, no!" Chloe and I scream.

Brynn breaks down and begins crying.

The guards come and get her.

The gunshot is heard and it's just me and Chloe left.

"Ah, my last two puppets. How delightful. I have an amazing idea for tomorrow. Sleep tight!"

I sigh, then crawl into bed and begin to cry.

I wonder what cruel thing he's going to have us do next.

The sadly familiar screen lights up.

"Rest in Peace, Brynn Rumfallo."

"Lights out, puppets."
