Since Luke had arrived at Lucy's two days ago, he had mostly been staying locked away in his room. Lucy had tried plenty of times to get him to come out. Tried interacting with him. Made it seem like she suddenly wanted to be an interested parent. But Luke was sort of being rebellious about the situation. And had no interest in playing whatever game his mother was playing. Or Garrett. If it really was his doing. Luke thought. After all, why else would mom suddenly want to come for him now? When before she couldn't care less what he was up to. He glanced down at the time while sitting propped up on the bed. He had just finished reading a few chapters in his book. As an attempt of passing the time. But it was going by fairly slow. Luke hoped his dad would be able to figure out a way of getting him back. It would take time, however. Luke hoped Patrick would figure out a way quickly. Because it was only day two of being here. And already hated it.

After a few moments, Luke heard a knock at the door. And let out a small sigh. "Come in." Luke wasn't up for much talking. But figured get this over with. Maybe if it looked like he was at least trying. Lucy would leave him alone. As Lucy opened the door, a small smile formed. Luke could tell it was fake. "How's it going?" She asked. Luke stared at his mother. Not responding at first. Then gave a shrug of his shoulders. "It's going alright I guess." Luke thought perhaps if he tried. Lucy maybe would let him leave for just this evening. He remembered since it was Friday. It was the night of the school dance. Him and Beth were supposed to go together. And he was certain Beth was bummed of the fact Luke wasn't going to be there.

"Look.. I know this is going to be different for a while.. But I was hoping we could get to know each other. Spend some time with one another." Lucy explained. Luke raised an eye. Not sure whether he should buy his mother's words or not. "Well.. You know there's such a thing as a phone. You could've called first." Luke suggested. "I wanted to surprise you. You might think this is sort of like kidnapping. But you're my son. I have the right to get to know you if I want."

Luke gave his mother a look. Like she was insane. Actually, she is insane.. He thought to himself. "Actually.. You don't. I'm old enough now to understand things now. I know now why you've never stopped by before. Because you couldn't. You guys had a court case. And it was ordered for me to stay with dad. You had no interest in being around me. I want to go back and stay with dad." Now it was Lucy's turn to give Luke a look. "That.. Is something that is going to change." Her voice was a bit cold as she spoke those words.

"Why now? Why are you suddenly wanting to get to know me now? You've had all those years.." Luke finally got the courage to ask the thoughts that were on his mind. "You know how things like that are. I've been working for a while to get you part time. But processes like that take time." Lucy explained. More like, bribe. Luke thought. Something wasn't adding up to him. Just like Beth and James. His thoughts went straight to Garrett. It was another way for him to try and separate from Beth. So she'd be an easier target. Luke couldn't protect her here. Why else would his mother just suddenly out of the blue come for him? All Luke hoped now, was if this was to do with Garrett. That James would protect Beth in his absence, when he couldn't protect her.

Luke thought for a moment at his mother's words. He wanted to ask her about Garrett. But decided against it. Instead, he went for another question. "Perhaps we can work something out." He said. Luke could see the surprised look on Lucy's face hearing the comment. Since he'd been cold towards her these last two days. She most likely wasn't expecting for him to take a turn like that. "What do you mean?" She asked.

Luke took a deep breath. It was a long shot. He wasn't sure if she'd allow him to go. But he could at least attempt it. "So.. There's a dance tonight.. That I am expected to go.." Luke didn't mention that he was planning to go with Beth. He didn't know what his mother was capable of. Beth was already in danger from Garrett. He didn't want to expose her any further to more danger. "If you let me go.. I think we can make some sort of an arrangement." Luke smirked a bit. If mother can bribe.. So can I. He wasn't sure if this was the best idea. Perhaps he could've just asked her politely to go to the dance. But Luke knew the answer would be no already. So he thought this was the best alternative.

Lucy glared at her son. Not liking how his tone had been the last few days. She had him here because she wanted to get to know him. Spend time with him. But Luke wasn't taking any interest. And though he didn't say it out loud. Lucy knew that Luke thought this was some sort of trick of hers. Lucy stepped further into her son's room. Walking closer to him. Her arms crossed across his chest. "You really think that is going to work on me?" She whispered. Though they were the only two people there.

Luke kept his watch on his mother as she stepped closer into the room. And closer towards him. Glaring back hearing the question. "I don't know what you're talking about." He said in a cold tone. Trying to look innocent. But it was hard to. As he was becoming rather annoyed about the whole ordeal. He didn't want to be here. And he was making it clear he didn't. Which was making Lucy annoyed. She was a stranger to Luke, thanks to Patrick. All she wanted was for him to hear her side of the story. "You know what Luke.. We are more alike than you think. I invented that game."

"I'll tell you what.. If you behave.. Do well here.. And I can see that you are actually trying? I may consider.." Lucy smirked. "Two can play this game.. Luke.." She muttered. Lucy didn't like the idea of her son going off so soon. She thought maybe he'd try to leave, run away from her. Go back to Patrick. If she allowed him to go. She wanted to gain his trust first. Lucy was doing this to protect her son. Though he didn't see it that way right now. He saw it as her kidnapping him. It sounded like he was getting into lots of trouble where he was at right now. And if he was with her. Lucy would be able to tame him. Get his life back on track. She noticed the glare coming from Luke at her words.

"You may not like this now Luke.. But I'm doing this for your own good. Even if you can't see that right now." Lucy responded. The two of them stayed staring at each other for a few moments. Before Lucy turned around, taking her exit. Leaving Luke glaring at her as she left the room. Already formulating plans, thoughts in his mind...
