"You know, you could've just told me what you were aiming for. When you chose to call James instead of me." Beth explained once the waitress left and finished taking their orders. "I know I could've.. I guess I didn't think through all of it completely. Guess could say we both messed up." He smiled. Beth chuckled. "I suppose we did." As it went silent again for a few minutes. Luke suddenly heard music being played in the background. Over the intercom. Someone had turned some tunes on for the guests who came to eat. Hearing the slow song come on in the background. Luke turned his attention back on Beth. "Would you like to dance?"
Beth looked at Luke, taken a bit off guard. The scene wasn't really set up for that kind of activity. "But wouldn't people stare at us? This really isn't the right setting. And I'm very certain we would tick the waitress off even further." Beth smirked at the thought. Luke slowly stood up without hesitation. Which wasn't like him at all. He was usually the one who worried what people thought about them. With whatever they were doing. It was like they switched personalities over all this. Beth became more of a homebody and shy again. Luke had gotten out of his shell, being away from his peers. And was able to become whom he really wanted to be. Without having all the peer pressure. "Since when have you cared about what anyone thought?" He grinned back in return. Extending a hand, waiting for Beth's acceptance. Beth smiled, reaching her hand, accepting Luke's offer. As she felt his hand wrap around his. She slowly stood up as he helped pull her up towards him. "And where the waitress is concerned?" Luke questioned, slipping his other arm around Beth's waist, pulling her closer. "She's just jealous because we're able to have more fun than she is." He winked.
Beth let out a laugh. Starting to follow Luke's lead, swaying along with him to the song. "You might be right about that." She winked back. "I KNOW I'm right." Luke responded back. Which received another chuckle from Beth. "You know, we haven't gotten to do a whole lot of this. I think the first time we danced was at the school dance. And we sort of skipped out on that early. We only danced one song" Luke glanced at Beth, getting a look as if he was pretending to think. "We haven't?" He questioned. Beth grinned watching his reaction. Shaking her head in response. "Nope, I don't believe we have. You're holding out on me. Because you're a very good dancer." She winked.
Luke laughed. "Well, maybe because I was worried if you knew how good I could dance. You'd drag me along to every dance club in town." He teased. Beth gasped, though she knew he was kidding. "I would not!" She exclaimed, giggling at the comment. Luke smirked watching Beth's reaction. "I know you wouldn't." He winked. Stepping back so he could give Beth a small twirl but suddenly heard someone once more clearing their throat to catch their attention. Right before he was about to do so. Luke quickly leaned forward grabbing the table. Making sure he wouldn't accidentally back into the waitress as the food was being brought to them. He'd almost forgotten where they were at, as he and Beth were dancing. Luke bit his lip. "Sorry." He mumbled, knowing the waitress looked annoyed. Because he'd almost bumped into her while she'd been carrying the plate filled with their food. And most likely would've almost bumped it over.
Luke noticed the waitress roll her eyes before leaving the table section. Beth bit her lip watching. Noticing she didn't look amused at all by their moves. "I guess this wasn't the best pick for the restaurant." Beth shrugged. Once the waitress was gone and out of earshot. Luke shrugged. "I wouldn't think anything too much of it. She might be just having one of those days." He commented. "I don't think it's us." He stated, reaching for the fork so he could start digging into his food. Beth raised an eye a bit at Luke's reasoning why the waitress was behaving as she was. A small smile formed at his thought. Not used to seeing this side of him. "You might be right." She responded, reaching for the silverware as well, So she could start eating her meal. The two didn't notice that a few curious onlookers had been watching them while they danced together.
