It had been a few days since the dance and Luke had been able to see Beth. It was proven a little harder getting out of his mother's grasp than he thought. Though Luke managed to get home just in time before Lucy arrived. She didn't trust him going anywhere. At least not out on his own. Luke guessed if he at least attempted to try and get along. Like Lucy wanted. Maybe she'd loosen up a bit and trust him more. Maybe even allow him to go back to Patrick. If she was allowed a visit from time to time. But it was hard for Luke to agree with that. Especially since Lucy's personality made it hard in wanting to know her. She didn't keep him completely from doing things. But she kept close tabs when he tried leaving the house alone.

"Luke lunch time!" He heard his mother's voice calling from the kitchen. Luke was in the living room, sitting on the couch, watching some tv show he didn't know. But it didn't hold his interest so his thoughts started wandering. He pulled out of those thoughts when he heard his mother's voice calling. Luke sighed, getting up and heading towards the kitchen. Looking a bit surprised however when the table wasn't set. "I can help set the table if you'd like." Luke suggested. Hoping perhaps if it looked like he was trying, Lucy might allow him to broaden the horizon a bit than just inside the house. And maybe even get brave enough to allow him out on his own.

Lucy raised an eye. He could see she was suspicious at the sudden behavior of his attempt. When, since he got there. He didn't seem to take any interest at all. "Well actually, I thought we could go downtown. There's a cafe nearby that has really good meals. I thought it might be fun we went." Lucy explained. "You mean, you're actually allowing me out of the house?" Lucy scrunched up her nose at Luke's question. "Look, I know you don't like it here. You've made it very clear of that. I know some things have kept some distances from us. Like I said, you're practically a stranger to me. But I'm trying.." Luke ran a hand through his hair, letting out a sigh. "Alright, fine. Where are we going?" Luke was half thinking Lucy would let him pick where they'd go. But she already seemed to have the place planned as well. "There's a good Italian cafe. Do you like Italian?" Luke nodded. But he was tempted in saying no. Not wanting to please Lucy so soon. Luke noticed the smile form on her face. And couldn't help but look annoyed that she seemed to be glad she picked right. "Of course.. Who doesn't love pizza?" Luke couldn't help but grin at the comment. And hoped it showed once again he was making progress.

Luke thought if he could play this out. It would work in his favor. Even though he hated that she seemed to be winning. Lucy appeared to be the type of person who liked goating. Luke wouldn't let Lucy think she was winning right away. Or she'd probably become too suspicious of his nice behavior. But if he threw in curveballs along the way, make it seem from time to time they were backfiring. Lucy wouldn't be able to guess he was playing her. She might actually think Luke was really making an attempt to know her. And start trusting him enough. Allow him out of the house without her beside him. Watching his every move.

"Alright, so Fabrocini's it is." Lucy reached for her purse. Then motioned for Luke to head towards the door. Which he did. Opening the door and stepping outside, waiting for his mother to follow as he headed towards the car. Approaching the passenger side and opening the door as he heard Lucy unlock the car. Once Lucy got into the driver's side. Luke sat down in the passenger seat.

As Lucy backed out of the drive and headed down the street. Luke remained quiet, glancing out the window. He could see Lucy glance at him from time to time. Almost as if she was figuring out which one of them should start the conversation up first. So the ride wasn't so awkward and boring. Since neither really knew each other. They didn't really know what kind of topic they should discuss with each other. What the other was interested in.

Lucy hesitated some before deciding to ask the question of a rumor she had heard of recent weeks. And it was part of the reason why Lucy had chosen to come surprise visit Patrick. See if it was true. "So.. I heard from a birdie that Patrick is seeing someone?" Lucy asked. Luke coughed, turning his head, facing her. "I'm sorry?" He questioned. Pretending to look as surprised. Luke noticed sometimes Patrick hung around Melanie a little more lately than they normally would. But didn't think they'd start dating anytime soon. For according to Beth, their parents were trying to set them up. To spend time with one another. So that would be rather strange for them to hook up after they'd spent all that time to get their children together. Luke wasn't sure how Lucy would think that or hear that information, except for one person. The birdie she was speaking of was Garrett. Luke didn't think with her being a lawyer, that she'd have any friends down in their neighborhood. Her friends were probably as rich and snobby sounding as she was. Garrett was the only reasonable solution. Which made Luke a bit on edge. And curious how they would've met.
