Booting up the computer, Lucy waited a bit impatiently so she could do some research. Glancing towards the door of her home office. Seeing it was open, Lucy got up to close it, before heading back to sit at her desk. When the meeting with Garrett finished. Lucy was in a hurry to get out of work. For one, because she didn't want the meeting lasting with Garrett any longer than it needed to. And second, with remembering the small bits of pieces of when Garrett came to visit her back in September. Though Lucy was now aware more, what was going on between him and her son. She still felt there was some useful information that could be used against him. He was still holding back. There was more to his story. And she was itching to get home so she could do some researching.
Once her computer was ready, Lucy clicked on the icon that would pull up the explorer. Then placed the cursor in the search engine. Placing her fingers on the keyboard before letting them type up Garrett's name. Surely, if there was something significant and big enough he did and was well known for. Lucy would find it. Then again, if he wasn't a newbie at this kind of thing. Lucy should've heard about him. But she didn't recognize hearing his name any place else. Unless the kid managed to keep a low profile. Maybe bribe someone to keep it out of the news. Which in that case, Lucy wouldn't find it on the internet. The evidence needed would've been swiped. Which meant she'd have to pull some strings on whoever was working with him at the time. So she could see files.
"Alright Garrett.. What are you hiding from me?' Lucy muttered to herself, as she waited for the second it took for the search results to pop up. After the search results were revealed. Lucy leaned forward to see the title of the link. If any of them matched up with what she might be looking for. Seeing a small synopsis under one of the links of what the article was about. Lucy clicked on it to open. Hoping it would contain what she needed. Before deciding to read the article. Lucy reached for her top right drawer. Pulling it out to grab a small notebook for notes and a pen. So she could write anything useful that would help support her case. Lucy didn't want any details going amiss. She wanted Garrett to be put away for good. For threatening her son and his friends. And hated the thought of losing against him. He was someone that should not be out on the streets. Lucy had a feeling that he had been in lock down before. But he was a smart kid, she'd give him that. He was able to figure things out to get his way. Like clearing his charges. And swiping the evidence. So he could be let free to roam and continue to do as he pleased. He may have gotten by with some. But Lucy wasn't going to let him go after her son like that.
When Lucy finally found something that might be worthwhile looking at. She grinned a little. "Garrett was in a mental institution?" She questioned out loud to herself. Unfortunately, that seemed to be the only detail the article was giving about him. As Lucy suspected. But at least this was somewhat of a start. Now the tricky part would be finding someone with the connection of who might know which institution he was staying. And curious as to how he got out. If somehow he bribed them to discharge him or if he escaped. If he escaped, it would've most likely been on the news. So Lucy was still going with the feeling that he bribed someone to let him out.
Just when Lucy was in the middle of writing her thoughts, a knock came at the door. She scowled. "What is it, interrupt Lucy day?" Laying down the pen on top of the notebook. Lucy got up, walked over, and opened the door. Surprised to see Jewel standing there. Jewel could see Lucy didn't look too thrilled seeing her at her door. "You do know that when my door is closed, it means I'm not to be disturbed don't you?" Lucy stated in a cold tone. Missing the fact that Jewel looked a bit frazzled. "I know.. And I'm sorry.. But I was hoping we could talk."
Jewel knew why Lucy was suddenly acting cold towards her. And that was what she came to discuss. Knowing most likely Lucy wouldn't forgive easily. She didn't expect her to. Jewel never explained her side of the story, however. She tried to, but Lucy was too angry when she learned what happened. And wouldn't allow Jewel to discuss. It was a mistake. But the mistake could cost greatly. Jewel was feeling guilty. She should've perhaps waited till knowing for certain Lucy was finished with work. However, it was something she needed to get off her chest.
