14. The Reunion

"Vice, you know, hindi mo naman ako kailangan ihatid pa sa office ko everyday..." sabi ni Angel at hinaplos yung arm ni Vice na kinakapitan nya ngayon.

"It's better than me worrying about you everyday." sagot naman ni Vice and placed a small kiss on Angel's temple.

The couple walked passed among other employees and greeted them as a happy couple that they are. Marami din ang nagpasa ng kanilang pagka galak dahil sa balitang magkaka anak na ang dalawa.

"Teka lang, love... Bakit parang wala ng mga gamit dito sa opisinang to?"

"Ha?" Vice peaked in and scratched his head, "Wala na nga."

"Didn't this office belong to Atty. Tatlonghari?"

Napangiti si Vice at ngumiti ng maliit, "Yeah."

"Nasaan na si Karylle?" tanong ni Angel with a deeper tone this time.

"She quit." sagot ni Vice na nagsimula ulit maglakad para matapos na ang usapan.

"She quit?! Kelan pa?"

"I don't know, a few days ago?"

"Interesting..." sabi ni Angel at napaisip while looking at Vice's facial reaction.

"Si Atty. De Castro na ang lead ngayon ng project for the street kids. It was a smooth transfer anyway, wala namang masyadong na-apektuhan sa pag alis ni Atty. Tatlonghari." sabi ni Vice na binuksan yung office ni Angel ng makarating na sila dun.

"How about you? How are you holding up?"

"Angel, I thought naayos na natin to?"

"I'm sorry... I know, dapat hindi na natin to pinag uusapan pa."

"Thank you."

"Siguro hindi nya pa rin tanggap na sa akin ka pa rin bumalik kahit na-"

"Angel, please don't."

"I'm just saying... She must have loved you too much for her to leave just to move on, right?"

"Hindi naman ako mahal nun, kung mahal ako nun, edi sana ipinaglalaban nya ako." pabulong na sabi ni Vice.

"What was that, love?" tanong ni Angel na busy sa pakikinig sa voice messages nya.

"Siguro nga..."

Lumapit si Vice sa asawa nya at hinawakan ang maliit na baby bump nito sabay paghalik sa noo ni Angel to try assure her.

"I can't wait for our family to start." sabi ni Vice na nakangiti nung nag pull away from Angel.

"I love you." sabi ni Angel na binigyan ng goodbye kiss si Vice dahil alam nitong kailangan ng mag trabaho ng asawa.

"Ako rin." sagot ni Vice bago umalis.

It was another day of work done, nakaupo si Vice sa may desk nya arranging the folders in his desk ready for the next day. Nang matapos sa pag aayos ay nag lean back lang si Vice sa upuan nya at binuksan yung top drawer nya to reach for something.

It was an almost worn out piece of paper with an almost worn out picture as well.

It has been two weeks since she left. Yet, everyday pa rin nyang binabasa at tinititigan yung picture na para bang ina-analyse nya yung mga pangyayari.

"Why did you leave all of a sudden?" he asked himself while his index finger stroke the ultrasound scan picture.

"Why did you leave me with all these questions in my mind?" he said again for the nth time that week na para bang may makaka-sagot sa mga tanong nya.
