Axel immediately jumped back. Heat had risen to his cheek but that he didn't mean he was blushing though . Alyana stared at him confused before taking in her surrounding.

'I must of passed out again' Alyana thought

Mrs.Rodgers helped her up from the floor and onto the couch,ready with a bottle of water

"Sweetie are you okay,what happened . Are you on your cycle"

Axel groans in embarrassment as Alyana blushed deeply

"No ma'am,I'm fine. I guess I overheated or something" Alyana answers quickly

"Well drink some more water,it should do the trick" Alyana kindly accepts the bottle and takes a few sips

After a moment of silence,Axel finally breaks the ice

"Why are you here" he blurts out

"Well umm there's this music festival on the beach tonight I couldn't think of anybody to bring so you know I thought of you"

"Looks like you'll have to find somebody else because I'm not going . I already have plans" he snaps rudely

Alyana's heart clinched with sadness. Did Axel just didn't like her or something. Ever since they met, Axel has been nothing but cold to Alyana. Only if she knew the truth

"Axel?! You're not being very nice. This girl obviously wants to be your friend and plus,skipping one night to hang out with us isn't going to hurt" Mrs.Rodgers tried reasoning with her son but Axel was very stubborn

"Mom you already know how I feel about being in big crowds . Can we please not have this conversation again" Axel storms out the room

Mrs.Rodgers sadly smiled at Alyana,trying to keep the tears back

Just then a loud noise came from upstairs as if something fell over

"Axel!" Mrs.Rodgers quickly stood to her feet

"I'm fine " he yelled angrily

Mrs.Rodgers apologies to Alyana for Axel's behavior and lets her leave. She then went up to his room only to find him sobbing by his bedside

"Axel" she touched his shoulder but he flinched away

"I can't do this anymore. There's no purpose of me living if I can't see a thing"

"Stop talking like that. You have just as much right to be here as any other man-kind. Just because you're blind doesn't mean you still don't have a purpose on this earth . Who knows,you may be the first professional blind baseball player in the MLB"

He laughed a little "Doubt it"

"My point is just because something bad happens or doesn't necessarily go our way doesn't mean it's the end of the world"

Axel took in his mom's words and it was like a big slap of realization . She was right . Axel may be blind but that didn't mean life stops there. Everything has purpose and his purpose could be a light or inspiration to others
