Weeks flew by fast. Axel officially started practicing with the team again. He ran bases as if nothing was wrong and he's even done a little hitting. It was  all about hearing for the speed of the ball. Axel wasn't exactly perfect but at least he's trying

"You're doing so good Axel. Almost where you use to be" Coach Brad said proudly

"Thanks,I'm trying for you coach"

"Hey listen don't do this for me because it'll seem like I forced you to come back to play. Do this for yourself" he nods

Axel sat in the dugout, taking everything in. He wouldn't be doing this right now if he gave up. Axel gained a little of his self confidence back but there was still so much work to do. Axel wanted to start next month's game. He had to. This is what he was meant to do

"Hey Axel" Alyana sat down beside him

"What are you doing here" he tried to not give her any signs that he was blind

"Coach Shayna invited me to come watch. Congratulations of being back on the team. This must means a lot" Axel nods and continued to look forward

"What's it like to be up there, pitching for over a thousand people"

"Um good I guess but I try not to let that get to my head. I just block all of it out" he answered honestly

"It's good to know you're not one of those guys that are full of themselves" she laughed

Alyana looked over at Axel and noticed that he was looking at her. His hazel green held so much. It was almost impossible to read but there was something there. His eyes has little lines in them. Like shattered glass. They were kind of red

" You're eyes...they're hurt. Are you okay"

Axel stood immediately. She can't know he was blind

"I have to get back to practice. See you around" Axel hurried back to the field

'She saw my eyes. Does she know?'
