---Declan’s POV---

I sighed whilst pulling to a halt in front of Davy and Laura’s school. Sage had been so busy with preparing dinner, going from store to store and seeing to our needs that I thought he could use a break.

The look in his eyes when I told him I’d go and fetch his siblings, was what you would expect when a stranded person would look at their rescuer. One of pure adoration, gratitude and relief. I felt proud when Sage smiled happily and even better, he had relaxed for a while, taking a breather before he had to prepare dinner for all eight of us.

A chuckle escaped me while I shook my head, rubbing a thumb over the leather of the steering wheel. Davy had talked to me in private when I had addressed him on his relationship with Josh; I wasn’t blind and I knew that they were a lot closer than before.

Davy had simply smirked, tossed those copper curls over his shoulder before he looked at me, tapping his finger on his lip. “What I and Josh do is none of your concern, but we’re together and exclusive, don’t you worry. Sage…has never been in a relationship. I shook my head again at the memory and looked outside, seeing the twins walk to the car. I couldn’t believe it but come to think of it, it all made sense. He didn’t initiate our kisses, though never stopped on his own accord and when I flirted with him, it always seemed like he didn’t know how to react.

“Hey, chauffeur, let’s get driving already! I’m starving!” Davy exclaimed playfully, leaning forwards in his seat. I cocked an eyebrow at him before shaking my head in amusement. No doubt the kid already had plans for Josh this evening, I didn’t want to hear them again, at all.

Thoughts of me and Sage going further in our relationship were drifting to the forefront while I drove back home, thoughts that made me anxious to get some private time with Sage.

“Okay, we’re here. And please don’t ask too much from Sage; he’s already strung up way to tight with all the responsibilities he has on his shoulders.” I said, turning around in my seat to give the twins a look. Laura simply nodded with a smile before she slipped out of the car but Davy…
