chapter 48: fix what you broke

You looked at the house from the woods.
Though you hadn't been close to it yet, you could see most of it.

No one was outside.
And you didn't know if they were inside.

You sat down and kept looking.
You had lost track on how long you were out there, but once you finally snapped back, it was dark.

You couldn't tell if it was night or the void.
"C'mon, it'll be easy. Just one. Little. Attack. Or we can do it my way."

You snapped out of your thoughts completely.
Cross was walking twords you.

It was for sure the void.
"So. Are ya gonna listen to me?"

You didn't respond.
"Don't make this harder for yourself."

He gave you a warning grin.
"Fine."
"Good. So if your ready to listen, I guess I should explain."
He took the sound of your voice.

You looked at him in shock.
"How did you..?"
He had been able to do that, but only if you were still In Control, even if barely.

"It wasn't hard, really it wasn't. Just took some time, and help."
Error and both nightmare walked out from the darkness.

The world grew bright.
You were on the ground for sure.
'You ready for tomorrow? It should be fun.'

Cross spoke in your voice.
You couldn't respond.
You wanted to, but it felt as if your vocal chords were being ripped out.

'dont try to answer. It wouldn't work.'

You could finally see the world.
It was dark.
And if course it just had to be raining.

You sat up.
You could move.
You went to Sprint away, but something held you back.

You sighed and accepted the little amount of control you had.
'Dont forget. I'm still right here.
Along with my friends. So I'd think youd have enough sense to not fight back.'

You realized you had your jacket on, and you quickly​ pulled the hood over your head.

It wasn't​ water resistant, but it still helped somewhat.
The house was lit up like a beacon.

It was calling your name.
It was asking you to go to it.
But you couldn't.

You didn't even notice that Papyrus was outside with sans until you heard sans talking to him

It was faint due to the distance and Rain, but otherwise you heard it.

"Brother...Why hasn't the human come back yet?"

Nothing.

"Are they coming back?"

Nothing

"D-did they die?"

"No. They...They won't be back.
I won't let them hurt you."

Cross chuckled at that.
'He has no idea on what I have planned.'

You felt your body shake and you no longer had control.
"I only wonder where that damn knife is."
