To Mom and Dad

Love is about flaws,
And the size of one's heart,
Not about the wallet,
And regardless of your parts,
I will still love people,
Forgive me please,
And no I won't pray to God in which I don't believe,
Mom, Dad, listen when I speak,
I'm hurting right now,
For a light I seek,
But you won't help me,
You don't look,
So open your eyes and see,
I'm in pain,
I'm dying,
I'm crashing,
I'm crying.

For your God's sake!
Just take a moment,
To see me for who I am not who I was born as!
A lot of things change over time,
Stop attempting to hijack my life!
I get it, you raised me,
Thank you for that,
But you taught me the wrong things,
And there was no pat on the back,
When I did something right it was a nod my way,
Not a grand cash prize like what you gave out yesterday.

I understand I'm not your star pupil,
Favorite kid,
I'm not asking you to love me,
Not like they did,
I just want some attention,
A little gratitude maybe,
So you can finally look at me for me,
I've grown up,
Things have been altered,
Can't you see how much my heart hurts?

You've told me right from wrong,
Is the money in my hand,
You said 'Change for those who'll give you,
'A million dollar plan',
I'm sorry that's not who I am,
No has to hold my hand,
I will be a better man,
Just trust me please.
