Hades' Heart

How bleak,
Dark,
Cold,
Frustrating,
With nothing to do,
But hear my own heart strings sing,
In a dark room,
With a black design,
Echoing screams,
Without a single light.

One day I saw her,
A lady in a garden,
And I begged her to love me,
But her gaze seemed to harden,
She said she wouldn't love me,
And she never did,
But I love her so,
And from her mother I hid.

I took her to my home,
Sweet fruit she was fed,
But the poison within,
Would trap her until she was dead,
A woman with flowers,
And gardens and hair,
A lady so angry,
But I kept her there.

My heart has since forgotten,
The reason I loved her,
No longer I do,
For I'm far above her,
She still cannot leave,
For she never had a choice,
But once or twice in a thousand years,
I gave her a voice.
