Shapes to Commit to

Nobody has time,
For that perfect hourglass shape,
Or the power to wait,
For a hero in a cape,
We make ourselves,
By our own laws,
And if you reach too high,
Put that project on pause,
Life may be too short,
But doesn't it feel long?

Don't force yourself,
To fit into those jeans,
Because putting on pants,
Is more metaphorical than it seems,
Own up to your faults,
See that you aren't perfect,
Because no one has it all,
Because nothing is worth that.

A smile is good,
Better than fine,
Smile more than you should,
We're running out of time,
Out of line,
Out of crimes,
That we have yet to commit,
We only commit to suicide,
Because what else is there to it?

The easiest path,
Is always the shortest,
But what will we learn,
If we don't go through with it?
Take the hard route,
Then you'll learn more,
And if knowledge is key,
Then the truth won't always set us free.

Sometimes our lies,
Become our story,
From that,
"Yes I weigh this much,"
To that,
"I don't weigh enough,"
Don't let your image,
Keep you from cleaning our world up.
