These Broken Pieces

Chapter 10

"I'll pick up these broken pieces till I bleed."

NAIAS POV

My alarm rang at exactly 6:30 on Monday morning but I was already awake. I never slept actually. How could I sleep when I had some much going on today?

Today is the day I decide what to do about my friendship with Hilary and Cole. Today I decide what to do about Aaron. Today I put my life back together. Today I start to pick up these broken pieces.

I threw the covers off myself and started to get ready for school. After I took a shower and brushed my teeth, I knew exactly what I was going to wear. I purposely wore a top that showed my wrists so that everyone could see my scars and know that they make me stronger. They would all know that I am not ashamed of who I am anymore.

I ate my breakfast as quick as I could and started my walk to school. I got to school 15 minutes before the first bell so that I could get everything ready. When I was done deciding how I wanted everything to play out, I went to class. This day had to be perfect.

The day was pretty good. People said Hi to me and acted like they didn't even remember Pia yelling at me in the cafeteria that day. Best of all, nobody asked me about the scars or the fact that I was in the hospital. It was a small town so everybody knew but nobody said anything. They just let me be.

The time came when I had to face Cole and Hilary. At lunch time they came right up to me. It was time.

"so... have you made your decision? can we be friends or nah?" Hilary asked me without hesitation and a huge smile on her face.

I think they expected me to take them back with open arms. I didn't waste any time either. I knew what my answer was and I was ready to say it. I have been holding back for too long.

"girls, I except your apology. I can't say I exactly blame you for what you did to me. You didn't want to be next and I except that. With that being said, I deserve people that won't abandon me at the slightest thing."

I smiled thinking back to what Aaron said to me that night at the beach.

"I do not wish to continue this friendship with you, but thank you."

I spun around on my heels and strutted away leaving them speechless. Phase one: complete. phase two: Aaron.

I ran out of the cafeteria but this time it was of excitement not sadness. I went into the hall to find Aaron. I knew he had basketball practices right before lunch so he should be changing right about now.

I waited patiently outside the boys change room for him to finish. After a while the door opened and players started to spill out. As soon as I saw Aaron, I ran up to him, put my arms around him and kissed him. I didn't even care that he was all sweaty or that his teem mates were watching us. None of that mattered because at that moment all I cared about was him and all his perfection.

Some of his friends started to whistle and cheer. Aaron and I both pulled away and laughed.

"what a great way to end practice"

We both laughed again. Aaron put his arm around me and we left. Neither of us had to say anything because we knew what this meant. Aaron and I were a couple now and life couldn't be better.

I was finally getting back on track.

LEORANS POV

On Mondays the cheer squad practices after the boys basketball team. I was walking to the gym when all of a sudden I heard a bunch of cheers. I followed the sound and saw Naia kissing Aaron in the hall. He put his arm around her and they walked away.

Oh so she thinks she came come back and everything will be perfect? As if. I am Leoran Carter and I always get my way. I'm not done making Naias life a nightmare.

I pulled out my phone and sent a text.

to: Pia Démattis

Meet me behind the bleachers after school. I Have a plan.

sorry I uploaded so late but I like to have the next chapter ready before I post the current one and the next one would not save and also I couldn't get into my account ughh!! anyway, that was a half cute, half drama chapter but there is a lot more of both to come!!
