A Shower & Love

As I stand in the shower,

I am numb,

like how I felt when I saw you with someone else.

The water droplets flow down my back,

like the tears flowing down my face.

The shampoo stings my eyes,

like how it stung when I saw you never loved me.

My hair is in a tangle,

like my feelings for you.

My feet are tired from standing,

like how I am tired of hoping.

The shower is full of steam,

like how my head is full of you.

I grab my towel to rid myself of the water,

like I try to get rid of you,

but I can't.

Because my love is just a dream,

unlike my shower.
