I Remember

i remember:

Those nervous early days,

when we thick as thieves,

dying for a glimpse of each other at school;

i remember:

 you hated school but you were so smart,

and I told you not to waste to your potential,

but you laughed and called me "nerd".

i remember:

i was a nerd and you hated that,

but that's funny,

because you were too.

i remember:

when you changed,

and tried to be someone else;

your whole existence was a lie. 

i remember:

when he came along,

and he was my friend,

just like you used to be.

i remember:

when he changed too;

and it was all your fault;

you corrupted him.

i remember:

when you weren't so sweet anymore,

and you ignored me,

and teamed up with him,

completely ignoring me.

i remember:

when he wasn't so funny anymore,

only malicious,

and he ignored me too.

i remember:

when you made me cry,

and for a second,

you weren't so mean,

and so different.

i remember:

when our friendship ended.

i remember:

when you punched me in the face,

and I started crying,

and you didn't do anything,

except walk away.

i remember:

when I trusted you.

I was a fool.
