I. How I Would Paint The Future

People, on a hill, a sunrise behind them.

They're gazing at something steel.

They're oohing and ah-ing.

It looks like they desperately need it.

Behind them, a dark figure in shadows stares at them.

II. How I Would Paint Happiness

Something sudden,

and filling,

like a burst of wind.

No-

like a flowering tree,

releasing all its blossoms,

and someone standing below it,

stares up in wonder and awe.

III. How I Would Paint Death

Black.

All black,

with a small white opening in the middle.

It looks like an open doorway.

No ground, no figure.

An immense canvas I will never finish.

IV. How I Would Paint Love

My toughest painting yet.

Two lovers embracing,

surrounded by fire.

Below them is the earth,

and below that,

is the lovers again;

this time screaming at each other,

surrounded by ice.

V. How I Would Paint The Leap of Faith

A man looking over a cliff with a twenty-foot drop.

VI. How I Would Paint The Big Lie

Something easy to swallow,

a pill,

or a cold glass of water.

Smooth,

and goes down your throat easily.
