(Emery's P.O.V)
I carry Skylar down the sidewalk to the frozen yogurt place and she jumps off my back, walking in the door and waiting for me. We get our yogurt and pick out our toppings, going the cashier. I pay for the yogurt and we sit in the corner booth.
"So why did you decide to give up acting?" I ask curiously.
"I don't know. I guess it was because I thought it was tearing everything up, but it turns out that the real problem was me." She says sighing and I practically choke on my yogurt.
"Did I hear that right?" I ask, looking at her.
"Yeah. I mean, it's obvious it had something to do with me." She shrugs, taking a bite of her yogurt.
"Sky, you can't blame yourself." I tell her, making her shrug.
"I am. Why else would he want to take a break?" She asks softly.
"I really don't know. He seems to think it's okay to run around. Maybe you should do it too." I shrug, making her smile slightly.
"I dunno, Em. I'll probably end up alone since my first serious relationship only lasted a month." She says, slightly pouting.
"Don't worry, you'll find the right one." I smile at her, grabbing her hand across the table gently. She smiles at me and nods, taking another bite of her yogurt.
"I dunno. I guess I should've known that would happen though. It was only a matter of time." She shrugs, making me frown slightly.
"Love, you can't blame it all on yourself. It's not like you knew he would leave." I say softly.
"It was a given, Emery. I can barely keep my parents in the same room for an hour let alone have someone love me for longer than a month." She sighs, leaning her head back against the booth, covering her face with her hands.
"Sky." I say, getting up and moving next to her. She instantly falls against my shoulder and I put my arm around her.
"What's wrong with me?" She asks softly, making me frown.
"Personally, I don't think anything is wrong with you." I say truthfully, leaning my head against hers.
"I just don't understand I guess." She shrugs, making me nod.
"I don't understand it either. I really don't. I never thought he was that kind of person." I say, making her shrug again.
"I should've seen it coming. I guess I was just caught up in how new it all was to me and I couldn't see what was really hurting me." She says and I smile slightly.
"Just so you know, I'm always here for you if you ever need anyone. I promise." I tell her, making her look up at me.
"I really don't deserve you." She laughs softly, making me smile.
"Yeah you do." I say, kissing her forehead softly. She giggles and finishes up her yogurt, putting the empty cup in mine. I get up and throw the trash away, waiting for her by the door. She walks to me and I open the door for her, letting her go first. We walk down the sidewalk, a few street performers singing and dancing as we walk past them.
"Do you think you'll ever go back to acting?" I ask looking at her.
"Probably. I just kinda need a little bit of a break from it." She says, crossing her arms.
"I understand. I know it can be a little frustrating and stressful." I tell her, making her nod.
"Very. Especially when your first role is starring in a highly anticipated movie." She says making me smile.
"I think you're doing pretty good for yourself. Seeing as you've basically just started on the real thing." I say and she nods.
"It's fun and I like it, sometimes it just gets to be too much." She says sighing.
"I agree." I say, putting my hand on her shoulder to keep from losing her in the late night crowd.
"So were you serious about Disneyland?" She asks looking up at me.
"Does a princess live in a castle?" I ask her, making her smile at me.
"So when are we gonna go?" She asks curiously.
"I'm free this weekend so how about we leave Friday morning and spend the weekend at the park?" I ask her.
"Are you serious?" She asks and I nod quickly.
"You deserve a break. We can just go and chill and have fun!" I smile, wrapping my arm around her shoulders. She laughs and shakes her head, putting her arm around my back.
"I'm really glad I have someone like you." She tells me, making me smile.
"I'm always here for you." I tell her, side hugging her tightly. She giggles and hugs back, kissing my cheek gently. I'm taken by surprise and I just look at her, smiling like an idiot.
"Where else do you want to go?" I ask her, breaking the silence between us.
"Um, I dunno!" She laughs, making me chuckle.
"It's up to you, love." I shrug, making her smile at me.
"The zoo is closed, oh! What about the aquarium?" She asks excitedly.
"If we leave now, we'll get there a few hours before it closes." I say and she giggles, nodding quickly. She grabs my hand and practically drags me back to the car, making us both laugh. I unlock it and she gets in, honking the horn as I walk in front of the car, making me jump. She covers her mouth and I walk around to the drivers side, getting in and she loses it, laughing uncontrollably.
"You're mean." I chuckle, starting the car.
"I'm sorry, Em." She laughs, laying her head on my shoulder.
"It's okay. I guess I can forgive you." I smile at her, making her giggle again.
"I hope so." She laughs, turning the radio on.
"Which aquarium am I headed to babe?" I ask curiously.
"The one at Santa Monica. It's the closest." She says giggling. I drive to the freeway and soon we're in Santa Monica and the pier comes into view.
"It's so pretty." Skylar says happily, making me smile over at her.
"I agree. We have to go on the ferries wheel." I say and she half laughs.
"I'm scared of heights, but okay!" She chirps, making me smile again. I find a place to park and I turn the car off, getting out and waiting for her. She walks up behind me, wrapping her arms around my waist, making me laugh as I start walking across the street. She laughs and grabs my hand, intertwining our fingers.
"Is this like a date?" I ask her, making her smile.
"Why not?" She shrugs, making me smile at her.
"Let's go, crazy girl." I laugh, wanting to race her.
"I'm not crazy!" She laughs, letting go of my hand and running past me. I laugh and race after her, hearing her laugh when I stumble in the sand, losing a little distance, laughing myself when she stumbles over a rock, making it look graceful.
"How?!" I ask laughing, catching up to her.
"I don't know!" She laughs, walking next to me up to the doors of the aquarium. I open the door and we walk in, the manager meeting us at the door.
"Welcome! Just two?" She asks curiously.
"Yep!" I smile, handing her my card.
"Enjoy!" She smiles, handing back my card and a map for us.
"Thank you." I smile at her and she nods, letting us go through the entrance.
"Where do you want to go first, hun?" I ask her curiously, looking at the map.
"Let's go see the dolphins." She giggles, pointing to the map.
"Okay. Let's go." I smile, grabbing her hand and walking with her through the halls leading to each exhibit. We finally get to the dolphin exhibit and she walks over to the glass, looking up at the dolphins swimming around. I smile and walk over to her, getting her attention.
"They're so cute!" She says happily, making me chuckle.
"Let's take a picture." I say getting out my phone. She turns to me and wraps her arms around me like a hug, I put my arm around her, pulling her closer to me. We both smile and I take the pic, doing my best to get a dolphin in the background. I look at the picture and show Skylar, making her smile as she looks at it.
"Send that to me." She says and I nod, putting my phone in my pocket. We walk around the aquarium, taking pictures together and of each other.
"I had so much fun!" She giggles, hugging me tightly.
"Me too! It was cool!" I smile, putting my arm around her as we walk to one of the last exhibits. The jellyfish exhibit comes into view and Skylar smiles at me.
"They're pretty!" She giggles, making me nod.
"I would have to agree." I smile at her, making her giggle. I grab her hand gently and she looks at me before intertwining our fingers slowly.
"Thank you for tonight. This has proven that I should've given you a chance." She says and I smile softly.
"Don't worry. Tonight is all that matters to me. I'm just glad I end the night with you." I smile and she smiles back before leaning up and gently kissing me. I feel my heart starts racing but I eventually kiss her back. We eventually pull away and I smile at her. She just kissed me. Oh my god. SHE kissed ME? What's that feeling? I've never felt that before. Why am I so nervous now? My heart is still racing, my hands are shaking. What is this?
