Cold. Uncomfortable. Dirty. Awfully stink. Frighteningly dark, quiet and almost soulless. Living in here was a pure agony to me that, everytime I thought about home; there was a strong feeling of loneliness started to erupt in the deepest pit of my heart like volcano. Yet, although I badly wanted to just go home and stay in Cole's arms right now; I knew I couldn't do anything about it. I was chained here --- alone --- in a dungeon with hundred of other prisoners who would scream loudly once in a while, begging to be freed by the stoic guards who would only punch them harshly because of the loud noise.
For a second, I wondered how Cole was right now. Is he okay? Has he eaten yet? And, most importantly, did he miss me? My subconscious was telling me that he probably didn't, and my eyes turned glassy upon the thought.
Yet, although I was sad, this was anyway the right choice. This was the consequence I had to go through in order to achieve my happiness with Cole. I knew this was nothing compared to the damages I'd done to him before, but still, I am actually glad that I'd at least had done something to repent my mistakes.
"Hey, dinner time!" the guard suddenly said as he harshly shoved a tray of foods through the small gap underneath the metal bars. I looked at him straight in the eyes upon the rough treatment --- his stoic face seemingly unfazed. Then, he suddenly smirked. "...what? Just because you're an Alpha I am scare of you?" he sarcastically laughed. "...you're pretty cute to think like that, ha?".
I clenched my jaw and looked away. Honestly, I am very ashamed of myself when he said that. I knew I was the first Alpha in the history to ever be convicted and shoved in the dungeon. My decesdents were doing pretty great in lives, but me, nope. I am not. I ruined my reputation and my whole bloodline. They never once step on a place as dirty as this dungeon, whilst here I am; now even living in it.
"Fuck off..." I muttered out harshly. I heard the guard was laughing again, this time he was joined by his two other friends who seemed to enjoy looking at me being so vulnerable. They even threw me stuff like tiny rocks and making loud noise by purposely hitting the metal bars repeatedly with sticks just to annoy the hell out of me. I then clenched my jaw tightly. "...fuck off, I said".
"Yeah? And what you going to do if we're not?" the guard from earlier replied.
I could only gave him a sharp glance; knowing how helpless I actually am right now to fight back.
"...aw, that's cute. I'm not even a tiny bit felt threatened anyway..." he added again, followed by his friends who were laughing hysterically. "...honestly though, you look like a little pussy right now".
"That's not funny..." I muttered out harshly.
"What? I can't hear you. Speak louder..." he said annoyingly. I rolled my eyes and tried my hardest to just ignore them. It's no use to argue with idiots anyway, and these people were just a bunch of kids who acted like idiots.
Then, getting up from the floor to lie down on my new stinky, worn out bed, one of the guard's friends added again; "Hey, Dean is talking to you, asshole".
"Yeah. So what?" I grunted. I could see the annoyance on their faces underneath the faint light coming from the hallway as I smiled to myself in satisfaction. They seemed triggered by the smallest response I'd depicted, and it only shown how weak and vulnerable they were actually inside. "...anyway, are you guys done? I want to sleep".
"Son of a bit---".
"Boys, what are you guys doing?" someone suddenly said. A man, who looked like he was around my age, walked towards them. I looked at him, then back at the trio, who were now bowing down before the man as if he was their king. The man then took a glance at me. "...stop bothering Mr. Alpha here, and go back to work".
"Yes, sir..." they said in unison before they scrambled away hastily --- leaving me alone with the man who I could only guess was their leader. Then, bracing myself, I greeted him with a small nod of my head.
"You've probably never meet me before..." he said. His voice was rough and throaty, but soothing at the least. He had this brotherly vibe coming from the way he was looking at me, and for the first time ever since I got caged in the cold dungeon --- I felt at home. "...my name is Tyrese. I'm the leader here. And, I'm sorry if those boys were treating you bad".
I smiled. Well, he was really nice.
"It's okay".
"Anyway, have you already eat your dinner?" he replied, glancing to my set of meal on the floor. It was left untouched ever since the guards had delivered it to me earlier.
Then, I shrugged.
"I'm not hungry".
Tyrese nodded lightly. I'd seen that he was fumbling with a bunch of keys in his hands, and for a second, I wondered what he was thinking about. From the very first glance, I'd also realized that Tyrese wasn't one of my species. He's different.
"...what are you?" I asked all of a sudden. He abruptly looked at me and raised his brows up. "...I mean, I know who you are but---".
"An incubus..." he interjected, and the answer was somehow making me frowned. Then, when he saw the clear hesitance on my face, he sighed softly. "...I know you wouldn't believe it but, yes I am. I am the last generation that ever exist because well, you know, it's hard for an incubus to breed although we are known as the sex symbol. I'd been with a lot of people, and despite some of them actually got pregnant, none of the babies had my genes. They either only grow up into a normal human being with incredibly short living duration or die when they were still in the wombs. None of it works".
"Sorry to hear that..." I said silently.
"Nah, it's fine..." he replied. He smiled small, then he cleared his throat. "...you should sleep though. You have a lot of things going tomorrow morning".
I nodded. When he said "a lot of things", it really meant I would go through my first punishment. What kind of punishment? I don't know. But I hope it was something light and simple. Then again, knowing my father, he probably had asked Tyrese to punish me with something heavy and brutal.
"Yeah, okay..." I said finally. I saw the outline of his smile, and I smiled back --- the sound of his heavy steps were the last thing I'd heard before I drifted away to sleep.
