Delusions of red velvet cake and Cuban cigars circulate in her spellbound soul,
A vision of Aphrodite whispering to the Hades of another faith.
Fallacies of an Elysian universe sprout from her cranberry lips,
A memory of a forgotten lover, drowning doubts with a douse of ideology.
Illusions of chimeric wishes, bourn off upon the quivering ripples of a teardrop river,
A mystifying kiss of confusion, blurring the lines between reality and optimism.
She dreams in color, for those who care to see,
What ancient secrets feed on her misery.
A repetition of antiquity, in all its blood and glory,
Wrought with nightmares, bold and blue, of disregarded allegory.
