Un Ritratto di Lui

You are midnight,

Perfumed with insanity.

Nuance sparkles in your moonlit eyes.

From your convoluted mind blossoms,

Wisdom in a world of anarchy.

Never has a mind of such danger,

Bred a man of such careful morality.

You are darkness,

Perfumed with paradise.

Order in a world of chaos,

Resounds in the ballroom of your methodical memory.

In your vigilant palm teeters,

An equilibrium of passion and reason,

An incandescent glimmer on the horizon of oblivion.

You are decay,

Perfumed with carnage.

Murder flickers precariously through the kaleidoscope of your sanity.

For lies still blossom on the lips of the masses,

As their tongues bleed the wrath,

Of your heartbroken madness,

While Death whispers fables from his candlelit palace,

And your blade glimmers with the smile of evil incarnate.

You are candor,

Perfumed with infatuation.

Regality skims the periphery of your star-bound soul.

From your blesséd heart evokes,

A murmur of faith in a world of agony,

And a scream of love in a universe of betrayal.

Goodwill canters through the depths of your disguise,

Unmasking a marred facade to reveal a gorgeous face,

Unveiling a beacon of light at the edge of oblivion.
