Y'all should know this by now, but in case it somehow slipped your mind,

AMMA NIGERIAN

I live in Nigeria.

Was born in Nigeria.

But still acts like an emo-ass white American bitch.

Go figure.

Yeah, I'm from this place

Yeah, I'm from this place

Yeah...

Hehe 😅

What a fascinating culture!

But one side effect that confuses people that I talk to a lot is...

LANGUAGE

Now hold your horses

Not literally you dumbass

Not literally you dumbass.

I'm not saying that Nigeria has her own general language that everyone speaks

I'm not saying that Nigeria has her own general language that everyone speaks

(Cause if we did it would be English)

We actually have three main languages amongst the people:
Yoruba
Igbo
and Hausa

IGBO SQUAD 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

WHERE MY CHI-BABES AT???

Anywho...

It's just that most people all understand a particular group of words or slang that we tend to slip into English and treat as such

It's just normal

Well unless you're not from here

Which in case you're like 'wut'

So to help produce understanding

And assure people I actually do speak correct English

I am giving whoever's reading this a CRASH COURSE on Nigerian slang

Or 'Pidgin English' as some call it.

Damn Nigerians are weird 😂

First up is one I use a lot which is:

ABBA

This basically means 'fake' and can be used to describe something useless or dumb.

E.g: 'This school is so abba.'

I've said that so much in the past few months.

Like you don't even grab.

Next up is 'jesu christi', which is basically Yoruba for Jesus Christ.

It's always appropriate whenever a situation is really freaking funny or weird, and saying the Lord's name in vain just isn't appropriate enough.

I'm getting tired of typing so I'll just be brief here:
Ode - idiot/dumbass

Sha - just

Pschew - A written hiss which basically means 'I'm done with your bullshit'

Aya - Cute or 'What am I supposed to do?'

Oyinbo - A name I was called a lot as a kid because of my accent that apparently means 'white man'

😐

DAMN SON

Skin/Skeen - I don't care, commonly answered with 'flesh' that results in a game where you have to name body components as they get smaller and smaller

Fun side note: I once did this with ravenwood12345 and he said 'Electron.' and was like 'What are you going to say? What are you actually going to say?'('Cause there's nothing smaller than an electron) and in my head I was just like 'Your...'

WELL YOU GUYS KNOW

He, he...

I think we should stop.
