These are just some terms that are commonly used in the yaoi world if you didn't already know them:
YAOI: also known as BL(boys' love) is a Japanese genre focused on the romantic or sexual
(or both) relationships of males.
♂ x ♂(I know this whole thing is about yaoi but I don't care.......
fight me ಠ_ಠ )The term is actually an acronym meaning "YAma nashi, Ochi nashi, Imi nashi". This translates to,
No climax, No punch line, No meaning............Me don't understand (●__●). But I'm guessing if there's no yaoi action going on then.... What's the point?
Also a joking yaoi acronym used among fujoshi is Yamete, Oshiri ga Itai which means Stop, my ass hurts!😂
EX:
⬇
Fujoshi: translates to "rotten woman" in Japanese. It refers to a passionate fangirl of anime and manga(otaku) that enjoys reading and watching the yaoi.
EX: (just gonna use my profile pic)⬇
Fudanshi: The same as a fujoshi but is a male fan of yaoi( just from research it seems that most fudanshi's are straight while the gay male audience is more attracted to bara, which is what I will get into later)
EX:(gonna use my boy guchi)⬇
Seme: basically the term used in BL for the character who would play the "top", meaning he would play the male role in the relationship.
EX: 😍⬇
Uke: the term used for the character who would be the "bottom", meaning he would play the female role in the relationship.
EX: 👅So those are just some normal terms commonly heard in the yaoi community😊
I won't really explain other words like shota or bishounen because there not really used in my opinion(and they kinda make me uncomfortable...) but if you curious of the two words I mentioned.....Shota is a young male (prepubescent or just pubescent usually)Think of it as the male version of a loli.
(I'm not into this honestly....)
Bishounen: is basically a beautiful boy or man..... There really pretty and good looking......
That's a pretty dude right there.
........... Did I mention I like kpop.............. That's a freaking master piece right there, he counts as a bishi for me..........
There's also non-con......
It's just another word for rape..........(◎_◎;) Why!But yeah those are the basics😅
