Chapter 3

We crawled into the vent. We followed the sound of Janson's voice
"There's no room for her where else are we gonna bring her" Janson said
"Hide her in the staff room" A man said
"Okay, will need to get her out as soon as we have a spot for her help me get her there she's a fighter"Janson said
Aris slowly began crawling again towards them
"Thomas'll find me"Claire said
"No he won't"Janson said
"Yes he will"Claire said
"What will he do after he finds you"Janson asked Claire
"We're going to find a way out of here"Claire said
"The world is a dangerous place there's cranks you won't survive a day out there"Jansons
"If I can survive in the glade with a bunch of boys, losing the only best friend who was a girl, arguing with people everyday and almost getting killed by a griever, I think I can survive"Claire explained to Janson
"he will he always finds me"Claire added.Jansons stopped an seems on his phone. He showed Claire a picture
"No he won't he's dead we killed him"Janson said.
"No you're lying"Claire said
"No I'm not, if you Don't start cooperating the same thing will happen to you"Janson said
Claire's eyes began to water she put her face in her hands. Janson just stood there and watched with a smile
"Why does he do that"I whispered to Aris. He's a monster
"To make her want to go with him cause she as nothing else to live for I've witnessed it before"Aris whispered
"He's a monster"I whispered
We kept crawling after when they were walking towards the staff room
No one was in there tea threw Claire in the room and locked it. Me and Aris crawled as fast as we could as quiet as we could. We finally reached the room
And popped from the ceiling Claire didn't bother to look up
"Claire" I said. Claire looked up
"Thomas is that really you"Claire said
"Yes, they lied to you I'm still alive we need to leave now come on"I said
I pushed Claire up into the vent and we crawled we got back to the room and Newt ,Minho, Clint, Jeff and Alby . We all were crawling in the vent cause Janson and his men were everywhere. We fell out of the vent in front of a door

Claire pOv
We all stood there and watched the door. I looked at Newt and I grabbed his hand. Thomas opened the door
"Oh my god"Teresa said
There was nothing there only hills full of sand and broken buildings that have fallen down, a bridge that was broken, cars full of sand cause of sandstorms I'm guessing. We walked out saw people running towards us
"Stop them"Yelled a man
We all ran out and began to run somewhere we just don't know where
"Where do we go now"I asked
"I don't know just run"Thomas said
We kept running WICKED guard soldiers people soon came out in trucks and had Guns, they were shooting us
"There"I said and pointed at a building that as fallen down and we hid there for a while. We heard helicopters and cars all day. We all then fell asleep. I woke up and it was still dark I saw Newt laying close to me. I got up and went for a walk which is stupid but I did it anyway to clear my mind for all this stuff that's happened and that happening. Teresa's dead we were kidnapped by crazy people, they tried to kill me. Can things get any worse than it already is. I kept walking then I heard footsteps but I couldn't tell from where. I stopped and looked around
I saw Newt walking this way
"What are you doing out here"Newt asked me. I looked at him
"I wanted to clear my head"I said
"Well go with someone I wouldn't be able to Iive with myself if you died u don't think Thomas would be able to either"Newt explained
"I wasn't gonna do anything stupid"I told Newt he looked at me
"Do you wanna know why I have a limp"Newt asked me
"I guess"I said. Newt and sat on the ground, he patted the ground for me to sit and we sat in the sand
"I climbed the top of the glade wall"Newt explained
"Why would you do that"I asked
"I wanted to end it all i hated the glade"Newt explained
"Oh my god"I said. I hugged him
"Promise me you won't try to do it again"I said. He looked at me then thought. I looked at him
"I promise"he said. He came closer to me and kissed me. I pulled away
"We should go back"I said
We walked back to where we were sleeping. Thomas was standing and watching me walk up to him
"What"I asked and stopped waking
"Where were you"Thomas asked
"No where"Newt said
"I wasn't asking you"Thomas said
"We went for a walk"I said
"You could've told me"Thomas said
"You don't need to know where I am at every single second of the day"I said
"Yes I do"Thomas yelled
"Be quiet or you'll wake up Minho, Aris and Alby" I told Thomas
"Well I don't care all I care about is you I want to know you're safe wit newt and not putting your life in danger"Thomas explained to me. I rolled my eyes
"No where's safe, everyone's probably dead or wounded or whatever. With you or not I'm never gonna be safe"
I told Thomas
I laid back down on the ground and Thomas laid down beside me. He looked at me but I didn't look at him I pretended like I was sleeping while he was watching me
"Tommy don't be so hard on her"I heard Newt Tell Thomas
"I'm not hard on her I just want to protect her"Thomas said
"She can protect herself to tommy"Newt explained
"Teresa said the same thing and she's dead"Thomas said.
"Claire isn't Teresa is she"Newt said
"Obviously not she's not dead she's alive"Thomas said
The morning.
I woke up and saw the boys looking at me.i got scared and backed up
"Jeez you guys a creepy"I said
"Okay, sure we're the creepy people"Thomas said
I got up and slapped him on the shoulder softly
"Ow, what was that for" Thomas said
"Don't you dare go there"I said
"Go where, Thomas go there I wanna know what happens"Newt said
"No, no you don't"Thomas said
"Yes I bloody want to"Newt said
"I wanna know"Minho said
"If she doesn't want to tell you she doesn't have to"Aris said
"Thanks Aris"I said
"Just tell us, we're like your brothers"Minho said
"Shut up all of you"I yelled
Everyone stopped talking and looked at me. I rolled my eyes
"You guys are so annoying"I said
"We know"Newt said. I grabbed Aris's arm and pull him away with me
"Hi"Aris said
"Hey, thanks for trying to stop them being annoying back there"I said
"They're just trying to help by knowing what's going on" Aris explained to me
"Do you wanna know what it was all about"I asked
"Sure but you don't have to tell me if you don't want to"Aris explained
"No it's fine your my best friend, well everyone else is as well but I can tell you anything, and well I like Newt" I told Aris. Aris looked at me
"It's so obvious, I saw you guys kissing"Aris said
"I know but I don't love him I like him as a friend I like someone else"I said
"I hope you don't mind but who is it" Aris asked me
"You can't freaky out when I tell you"I told Aris. He nodded his head
"It's you.. I like you more then Newt"
I confessed to Aris
"Newt can't knew about this or he'll murder me"Aris said
"I Can't know about what"Newt said
"Nothing"I said
"Okay, well we're leaving soon so get ready love"Newt said then walked away
"How exactly are you gonna tell him"Aris asked me
"I'll just ignore him the whole day and stay with you, he'll get the catch"I said
Aris laughed.Aris and I walked up to the group.
"Okay so we're gonna go somewhere far from the Scrorch"Alby said
"What about the cranks"I asked
"What about them"Alby asked
"Nevermind"I said
"Whatever, let's go"Alby said and we were off I stayed with Aris. Newt would look at me every once in awhile
"He's looking"Aris said
"I don't care"I said and smiled
I didn't make I contact with him at all

Newt pOv
"Tommy is something up with your sister I don't know"I asked
"You annoyed her pretty good this don't you know she not a noting person yet"Thomas said
"I know she's not a morning person, but we always play around like that"I explained to Tommy
"You never play around like that with her"Tommy said
"We do sometimes just not when you're around"I said
"Yeah sure, Well i didn't see So I can't believe"Tommy said
We walked and I kept looking at Claire She Would never look back at me tho she would look at Aris. And Aris would tell her I'm looking at her. So I stopped

Claire pOv
We were walking then we saw something that was sand it was water and dirt. I saw Thomas walking towards me.
"Hey Tommy"I said
"Hey.. Newt wanted to know if you were okay"Thomas said
"I'm perfectly fine"I said
"Are you sure"Thomas said
I looked at Aris and grabbed his shirt and pulled him closer
"Does that answer your question"I said
"Yeah"Thomas said and walked back to the front. I noticed that newt was watching and he looked at me with his puppy dog eyes. His face told me he felt betrayed by me. I kind of felt bad
"I think Thomas was a un comfortable when we kissed"Aris said
"So was newt"I said
"You feel bad"Aris said
"No I don't"I lied
"Yes you feel bad cause in the inadequate you ov w newt more then ever and you hair don't see it yet we're best friend so don't Ruin our friendship"Aris said
"You're always right so you're probably right about this as well"I said
I walked up to the front while I was walking I saw Aris and he gave me a thumbs up. I tapped on Newt's shoulder. He looked in my eyes
"What do you want"He asked harshly
"Nice to talk to you too"I said
"Oh my god are you serious, you just bloody kissed Aris on the lips Infront of me"Newt said aggressively
He raised his arm up as if he was going to slap me. I flinched
"Sorry"I said . He looked at me and saw the pain in my eyes and how much I've been through as if he remembered and got his memories back
"I'm sorry you know I would never do that to you"Newt said
My eyes slowly but surely filled with tears. I ran to Thomas and hugged him
We were all stopped near the Lake
"What's wrong"Thomas asked in a worried tone.
"Newt was going to hit me he raised his arm but he didn't hit me"I said
"Just stay here with me" Thomas Said
I laid in his arms. Since it made me feel a little safer then I am. Thomas left to go get food from his backpack which he forgot by the lake Newt then came up to me. I backed away every step he toke closer. I guess I'm not as strong as I thought I was.
"I'm bloody sorry Claire"Newt said
"You were gonna hit me"I said looking at the ground he grabbed my chin softly and lifted it up so I was looking in his eyes like he would always do
do you have emotions towards me"Newt asked and looked in my eyes
"No, I'm scared, are they controlling you or are you just mad at me"I asked
"I was a little mad at you"Newt said
Thomas came up
"Are you guys friend now or whatever you guys were"Thomas asked
"We are..."I said and looked at newt
"We're in a relationship"Newt said
I blushed. Thomas sat back at his spot
"When ever you guys fight it's always for a couple hours or minutes or seconds it's real stupid"Thomas said
"I'm ready for bed"Minho said and laid down on the other side of the small fire we made under a bridge that was missing a couple boards since it was the only thing hiding the fumes of the fire so the WICKED won't find us
Minho fell asleep instantly
Aris was walking around and could t stay in one place I walked up to him
"What's wrong"I asked
"I feel like we'll get caught with that fire"Aris said I hugged him
"We won't and if they find us we run even if it separates us we'll always find our way back together"I said
We walked towards the fire
"Where are we planning on going"I asked Alby
"I don't know somewhere safer then here in the mountains"Alby said
"Get some sleep were leaving in the morning if one person isn't up they stay here and we leave"Alby said
"So we when to leave you"I said
"I'm not the last person to get up you are"Alby argued with me
"All the other times I wake up and then you wake up the minute after me"I said
"Then you'll wait a minute"Alby said
"Oh and boys quit fighting over Claire"Alby said Everyone looked at me
"Means you too"Minho said
"I don't fight over her" Alby said
"Remember this morning"Minho said Alby blushed I've never seen him blush before it was were I never thought I would see him like that
"Everyone just go to bed"Alby said
Newt came and laid beside me
"Are you cold"he asked
"Yeah. Kind of"I said
"Come on"newt said and opened his arms I laid in his arms

"RUN"Alby yelled
