I Cried

I cried

I cried

I cried till I bled.

I watched my tears become one with the rain.

I felt my heart fill with disdain.

Against the world

Against the universe

Against everything that should have been.

Then I felt warmth surrounding me in the cold shiver of the rain. I felt something- someone taking away the pain as if it was being sucked away and absorbed. I looked around to find him holding an umbrella above my head. "Everything's going to be fine," he said.

So I cried

And cried

And cried,

Sobbing, tears flowing down cold cheeks,

harder than ever, I cried.

Right onto his shoulders as he embraced me.

Because when he said that everything was going to be okay,

I found a reason to stay alive another day.
