Thief

~~~~~~
You little thief.
Sneaking in
Breaking out
You've stolen my heart
Without a doubt
You played with it
And then you're done.
You're bored
You're tired
So you broke it for fun
I cried for that heart
I bled so much just to mend it again!
But now and then
A thief- you- comes
And my defense is reduced to nothing.
You steal it
You play with it
You get bored
You break it
And I'm left crying on a dark empty street picking up whatever's left of the pieces.
That's how it always is.
But I'm running out of glue
And that's all because of you!
I'm tired of bleeding and mending
Of fixing my heart-
Of cleaning up the mess you made!
.
.
.
But perhaps of the many times you've stolen my heart,
I was also at fault.
Because I left the windows open
When I should've locked it in a vault.
I secretly liked the cycle.
How condemning.
So now, you run away for the nth time.
But as I watch you speed off,
A plan forms in my mind.
What if,
Just what if,
I try to steal your heart too?
And commit the same crime at the same time?
Would I become yours?
And you mine?
