Chapter 33

Sophia

Leading me out the back door I looked out and saw the garden form the dining room windows I saw. There were four large sections and one round one in the middle with a fountain. Each section had something different but all coordinated with each other, there was a cherry blossom tree with a walk way leading to a white bench underneath in the far right square while there were various flowers in the top left square. The bottom right square closest to me had grass and a Crockett game set up with white benches, while the bottom left closest to Juane had a scattered path leading to a small roack waterfall that pooled into a lake and lily pads scattered in it.  Each square seperated by bushes and white pokey fences, I felt as if in a dream. Stepping forward I walked out to the middle circle with the fountain, a statue of a mermaid holding a jug was at the center while large and small fish squirted water out that pooled at the bottom in a circle. The water was crystal blue and as I got closer to it I saw my reflection. Juane leaned over and looked at me through the water and smiled, "you like it?" He asked

I leaned up to look at him, "holy $hit, how does this place even exist?" I asked amazed

Juane laughed, and pointed up, "the forcefield, we had 8 witches come and set it up. It prevents any one not a vampire or human to enter unless brought and allows us to bring any type of plants and animals inside" he explained, 

I looked up at the sky and saw a slight tinge of purple, "so nobody accept humans and vampires can find this place?" I asked to clear this with him

He nodded, "yes, but others can be brought here by a vampire not a human" he said

I thought for a moment, "what about a witch?" I asked

He thought, "well, no which has tried so we don't know" he shrugged

So if they bring Ashley they, in theory, can find this place. I need to tell Javiare this, Roman would never let her come to a Vampire kingdom, "so wait, one more question" I said, Juane nodded for me to continue, "are mermaids real?" I asked

Juane looked at me and laughed, " yes they are, why wouldn't they be?" He asked, "and how do you not know this common knowledge?"

Think Sophia, make up a story, "oh, uh, my father kept me inside most of my life, it wasn't until I ran away here that I finally was able to see the world" I said laughing it off

Juane took both of my hands in his, and pulled me close, "then allow me to show, you the world" he whispered in my ear

I felt so wrong, with him it was like everything was wrong. He seems like a nice guy but is all wrong for me, I don't feel myself with him. I awkwardly laughed, "heh heh, yeah" I said stretching the 'yeah'

He let go of one of my arms and walked me over to the cherry blossom tree, sitting down on the bench under the tree you could feel the breeze perfectly. Juane leaned his head back and wraped his arm on the back of my side of the bench "I used to come here a lot" he told me relaxing, "I'm glad you told me about your past a little, now do you want to hear mine?" He asked

Why not you know, humor him, "yeah, ,sure" I said

He chuckled and continued, "well I was born a vampire, in a perfect family that had no problems. I loved my parents and they loved me, I did no wrong. I finished my studies when I turned 120 and started to prepare to become king. I focused all my time on becoming king that I forgot one crucial fact" he said pausing to look at me, " do you know what that is?" He asked me and when I looked at him clueless he smiled even bigger, "I need a queen to be a proper king"

My blood ran cold I felt slimy, like someone dunked my in a bath of eggs, "oh, is that all" I said trying to keep my cool

He nodded and leaned his head back again looking up, " I just finished my kingly studies last month and what was my luck I would find an amazing woman right in front of me" he said taking another deep breath, "when I first saw you I knew you had to be mine" he said

"Right" I told him pretending he was entirely right

"Yeah, and youll get what every girl wants" he said and I looked over at him like he was crazy, "they want jewels, diamonds, glam, and all the nice things" he smiled, "while I take care of all the business and physical things" he closed his eyes like as if he was dreaming about it

I sighed, "well, that's not what this girl wants" I said looking into my lap

Juane looked up to see me, "but, th as what everyone said. Laddies want diamonds and pearls, pretty and nice things too" he said confused

"No, maybe one thing here or there, but that's not the only thing we want" I said

"Than what is?" He asked as if I was telling him complete nonsense

I stood up and walked over to the tree talking, "we want love, not just physical objects" I said lightly setging my hand on the tree, "we want actual thought to go into the relationship, something that you worked hard on and not just bought at a store" I explained traceing a heart on the tree, "not everything that people say is true, there's this thing called lying and everybody uses it" I said giggling

Turning to face Juane I saw him looking at me with wide eyes...
