Chapter 36

Sophia

Once Olivia picked out a dress we walked back to the room so she could shower and do her makeup. As we walked down the hall we passed Emma with a bunch oof other girls, I could tell they were all human because they were all wearing the same outfit. I waved and smiled at them, but Emma was the only one who waved back.

I hung olivias dress on the back of the bathroom door, she also picked out a ballgown style, accept hers was a midnight blue that had a white part of the torso. Silver sparkles and swirls scatters around the dress and centered at the torso piece, it also had an open back but had a silver bow that connected the top of the back together. It was my second choice, but the gradient on mine just drew me towards it.

I sat on the bed and waited for Olivia to finish, when she came out her blond hair was straight that curved into itself at the ends. She had done a full face of makeup, eyebrows, foundation, all the works. I smiled as she stepped out, "oh, he is going to love you" I cheered getting up

She nodded in agreement, "I hope so, I only dress up this nice once in a blue moon, and I'm saying that litrily"

I took her hand, "I think we have left you know who waiting long eniough, don't you think?" I gigled

She shook her head, "no way, at least an hour more!" She laughed

As we laughed and giggled at our stupidity a knock sounded at the door, I cought my breath and sighed walking over to the door. Turning the knob I then pulled the door and peaked out, I saw Juane standing there with a rose corsage in hand. I shut the door quickly and looked back at Olivia, she looked at me with wide eyes as I pointed to the calaramd leash she threw off. Running over to it she buckled it on and slipped on her silver heels giving me a ready nod before I turned around and opened the door again. Juane looked at me questioningly and I cleared my through, "oh, I had to fix something" I told him, "sorry"

He shrugged, "don't mind, you ready?" he asked

I nodded, "yeah, we are" I said opening the door all the way showing my whole dress

He looked me up and down with wide eyes and a huge smile, "you look amazing" he said

I looked back at Olivia as she stepped up next to me, Juane held out his hand for me and I played along placing mine in his. He slid the course on my wrist and pulled me out of the room, he then grabbed Olivia leash and shut the door, "lets go" he smiled at me

(Cue the music 🎶)

Leading us down a hall and up some steps we walked closer to where I heard a low crowd and slow classical music playing. He held our hands in front of us leading me and standing straight, I copied and stood up straighter while tilting my neck up. Playing along is actually quite fun once you get the hang of it, two guards opened a large set of double doors as we walked up. There was then an announcer that stood at the top of the stairs, we walked up to him and he smiled at us, "names please?" He bowed his head slightly and smiled

Juane looked at me, "oh, uh, Sarah" I said

The man looked up at me, "full name please" he asked

Quick, think of something, "uh, Sarah Rose Cross" I said quickly

He nodded and turned to the large crowd at the bottom of the stairs inside a huge ballroom, "ahem, please welcome our prestigious Prince Juane Willam Cane with his lovely guest and finance Sara Rose Cross!" He announced

As he said 'finance' I almost cringed at the thought of marrying him, Juane then led me with his hand to face the crowd. Everyone bowed, Juane and I bowed slightly then mad our way down the stairs. Him helping me with every step because of the dress I had, looking back I saw Olivia managing fine and I suddenly became envious of her stair skills. Once at the bottom and finaly on flat ground I was surrounded by other girls. I let go of Juanes hand and saw him walk off with other guys. humf, figures he would leave me to go hang out with his guy friends. I also noticed he still had Olivia with him, damn I need to get her away from him.

Suddenly a girl wavering in my face brought me back from my mental notes, "um, you ok?" She asked

I smiled, "yes, I'm ok" I said to her

She and about 6 other girls surrounded me, "so when did he propose?" One asked, "where did you meet?" Asked another, "ooh, and have you done it yet?" One said exited

I turned around and faced them, "well, he didn't propose, we meet at the pet shop, and what is 'it'?" I asked while answering there questions

One of the girls gabbed my hand and forced me to look at her, "you dont know what it is?  She asked to confirm

I shook my head, "no" I told her

They all looked at me shocked then giggled, "wow, ok so who wants to explain it?" she asked around

Another girl stepped up,  "oh, I wanna" she said raising her hand excitedly

"Go ahead then Lilyana" the other encouraged shifymting me in Lilyanas direction

"Well, the 'it' that we are talking about is the marking, each partner marks one another with there fangs. Its only done during s-e-x though so its a spiritual and physical connection" she explained

I cringed and starred laughing a little, "wait, ok, that's funny" I said

They looked at me confused again but also shocked...
