The next day at school was just an uneventful normal school day. There was no signs of Mikael or Esther, or any of the originals. Well apart from Stiles but no one was counting him.

He was making his way to his beloved jeep after the last bell. He was meant to be waiting there for Scott, who he was going to take home. But as he looked into the window of the car next to his, Stiles realised this wasn't going to happen.

There sitting in the drivers seat, of a very smart and out of place black car was Klaus.

Their eyes meet through the tinted window and the strangest feeling washed over Stiles. They hadn't seen each other for over two-hundred years, but it could of been a day. They both were still exactly the same. Klaus was a sight for Stiles' sore eyes but he was also the reason his eyes were sore.

In one fluid movement, Klaus was up and out of the car.

"Nik," Stiles started off, his voice was weak with emotion.

"Well if it isn't the master of mischief in the flesh," Klaus replied with his signature smirk, his voice was the same as ever. Stiles couldn't help but smile at the nickname Klaus used, if was funny because if anyone should have that title it would be Kol. But Stiles had it all because when he was a little boy he wasn't able to pronounce his proper name, no many how many times everyone tried to teach it to him. The closest he had gotten was mischief, which had stuck until the nickname Stiles came. Now it seemed Klaus was the only one who still used it.

Full of the moment, Stiles hugged Klaus without even thinking about the fact that Klaus didn't particularly like hugs. But Stiles was pleasantly surprised when Klaus wrapped his arms around Stiles. And though Stiles realised how cliche it was, the best way to describe how he felt was full, full of happiness. Like everything good again now that he was with Klaus again.

But then all the other feelings he had towards Klaus came back. Anger, resentment and pain were the main ones.

Stiles loved to hate Klaus. He had been the source of some of the best moment of his life but had also been the cause of most of the worst. Stiles and Klaus had always been a pair, although they both would have denied it was true.

It seemed all their other siblings had a key trait that made them themselves. Elijah was the fair one, Kol was the trouble maker, Rebekah was the free-spirited one, Finn was a mothers boy and Henrik was the innocent one. But Stiles and Klaus had just been Stiles and Klaus. Not entirely one type of person or another. When they were turned in to vampires the almost evenness of their trait showed through, except instead of balancing in the middle they drastically dipped from side to side. Acts of horror followed by acts of love.

Most people said that Stiles' 'mood swings' were often worse than that of Klaus. They both had their good and bad moments. But after a while Stiles noticed that Klaus' actions were starting to tip towards the reckless and impulsive end of the scale. By even just by looking at Klaus, Stiles could tell that being the most powerful person in the world had got him stuck in this mindset.

Klaus had also worked out what Stiles' key trait was; a quiet strength. One that Klaus knew he had never had. Stiles had the strength to walk away when he needed to but the strength to fight went it was necessary. He also had the strength to stop his intake of human blood.

Klaus envied him because of it. Esther and Mikael had always favoured Stiles because he had a strong minded and willed personality. Klaus had never really got this treatment, to his mother thought he was a mistake and to Mikael he was a bastard son.

The pair split and took in each other properly for the first time in two centuries. Klaus was about to say something but Stiles had cut in saying, "Don't you think we should go somewhere a little more private brother?"
