"I got here as soon as I got your text," Y/N heard the familiar British-accented voice speak up as they entered her apartment. "What happened?"

"He cheated on me," she sniffled into a tissue and blew her nose, which broke Jolyon's heart. "And the worst of it all, he was cheating on me with my friend."

"He's a scumbag," Jolyon mumbled as he brought her in for a hug, "I'm sorry this happened to you, love."

Y/N's heart always fluttered when he called her 'love'. Truth be told, she was in love with him, but, she was afraid to admit her feelings for him. Her relationship with her now ex-boyfriend was to try and forget about her feelings for Jolyon, but they always came back to haunt her.

"I think it was for the best that I broke up with him," she sighed as Jolyon sat down next to her on the couch and leaned her head on his shoulder.

"He wasn't worth your time," he muttered as his hand flew to her soft H/C hair and gently played with it. Jolyon was and still is in love with Y/N, but his racing career forced him not to pursue a relationship. But, he knew what he and Y/N had was special and he knew he could treat her better.

"Looking back in time, he wasn't," Y/N chuckled to herself and nodded her head. "I'm sorry if I interrupted your day, but, I just needed to be with someone and I-"

"Darling, I'll always be here for you, no matter what." Jolyon reaffirmed to her as he swept away any stray strands of her hair. The expression of his sparkling blue eyes softened as he snaked his arm around her shoulder and brought her closer to him. His heart beat faster when he felt her snuggling into his chest and grabbed a fistful of his shirt.

"I appreciate that," Y/N smiled as she wiped the salty tears away, but the stains were still slightly evident. "Thank you, Jolyon."

He smiled and pressed a kiss on her forehead, "I'm happy to be there for you. I love you too much to let you get hurt by anyone else."

As soon as the "I love you" came out of Jolyon's mouth, both he and Y/N froze and looked at each other. Jolyon thought he had scared Y/N, but in all honesty, she was just shocked to hear that he loved her.

"You-you what?" Y/N stuttered and turned around to look at Jolyon. She looked into his blue eyes and searched for the truth. "You love me?"

"I love you, Y/N," Jolyon said it once more, but this time with more confidence. "I always have been in love with you."

"I love you too, Jolyon," she smiled softly as she kissed him on the cheek. "I was dating that scumbag because I couldn't get you out of my mind. But, you were the person I wanted to end up with in the long run."

"Really?" Jolyon asked with a look of shock on his face. He thought this was a case of unrequited love, but Y/N proved him otherwise. "But, why would you want to date me?"

"Some people out there are jerks," Y/N spoke up as the pad of her thumb softly rubbed Jolyon's cheek, "but not you, Jolyon."

She leaned up and pressed her lips on top of his; kissing him in a gentle yet sweet way. At first, Jolyon was taken back by shock, but he kissed her back after a few seconds into the kiss. Both of them had been waiting their whole lives for this moment.

"I want to take you out on dates, travel around the world with you, and spend the rest of my life with you, Y/N," Jolyon mumbled after they pulled apart, but their foreheads were still touching. "Y/N, would you like to go out on a date with me sometime?"

"I'm open tomorrow night if you want to go out for dinner." She smirked at him before she kissed him on the lips again. "Are you free then?"

"For you," Jolyon chuckled to himself as he brought her closer to him, "always. And yeah, I'd be down to go out to dinner with you tomorrow night."
