Chapter 25 ~ Kenzie

I wake up in a bright white room, and there's lights shining down on me. Everything smells so clean.

Wait, I'm not dead am I?

Is this heaven?

I'm surprised I even made it to heaven. I thought I'd be getting my ass kicked down to hell.

Then I get snapped back into reality when some doctors start poking me and prodding me.

"Get off me," I try to say, but my throat is so dry it came out as merely a whisper.

"Wait she's trying to talk guys!" The head doctor says.

"I said, get off me," I say, louder this time.

"Mackenzie we can't do that, but we're almost finished,"

"Where the fuck is Johnny?" I mutter under my breath.

"What was that?" The head doctor asks.

"Um, I, uh, where's Johnny?" I stutter.

"In the waiting room, with a blonde girl, his sister I think,"

"Is-Is Brandon there?" I ask.

"No, he's down at the police station now,"

"Right so, can Johnny come in?"

"Sure," the doctor says, then they all leave as one says,

"Mackenzie wants to see Johnny,"

"AND LAUREN!" I yell.

"And Lauren," the doctor says, before leaving, as Lauren and Johnny enter.

"So how long have I been asleep?" I ask sitting up.

"5 years," Johnny deadpans.

"Well you aged well," I joke.

"I'm joking, only a few hours," Johnny says, climbing onto the bed next to me.

"Third wheeling to the max right now," Lauren laughs.

"Awww Lauren come here," I say, shoving Johnny out the bed.

Lauren climbs in, and then a nurse walks in.

"You're free to go!" She smiles.

"Thank fuck," I mutter, causing Johnny and Lauren to explode with laughter.

~Once Everyone Is Back At Carson's~

We walk into Carson's big open plan living room, to find him curled on the sofa, eyes glued to the TV screen.

"Hey, what's up?" Johnny asks, plonking himself down next to Carson.

"B-B-Brynn," he stutters.

"What about her?" Johnny inquires, stealing some doritos from the bag next to Carson.

"She-she broke up with me," he says, a tear escaping his eye.

"Oh," was all Johnny could muster.

"Sorry girls, can I talk to Johnny for a bit?" Carson mumbled, and Lauren and I went up to Johnny and mine's room.

"I need to ask Brynn why she did that," I mutter.

"No, Mackenzie," Lauren starts, forcing me to look her in the eye, "why did you do that with Brandon?!"

"I-I don't know, I needed to forget about everything," I mumble.

"You don't go and take stupid drugs with stupid boys!" I can tell she's upset with me, I'm upset with myself.

"I'm sorry Lauren," I say with tears in my eyes.

"Did you know your heart stopped? We all thought we lost you, you should of seen Johnny,"

I'm speechless to be honest.

"Come here," Lauren sniffs, pulling me into a hug.

We decide to watch a film, when I get a text from Brynn.

QueenB💗: how's carson doing?
Kenzieboo☺️: bad.
QueenB💗: fuck. Kenz tell him I'm sorry, I do love him. As a best friend, but I don't like him like that. Truth is I never did, but I had some stuff going on, tell him I'm sorry.
Kenzieboo☺️: why did u date him if u never liked him?
QueenB💗: Kenz ur my bff so u can tell anyone but
Kenzieboo☺️: .......
QueenB💗: I like girls

Wow. Did not expect that. I thought Lauren was bi. I'm pretty sure she is.

I call Brynn, I need to tell her it's okay.

"Do you hate me?" She asks, picking up.

"Why would I hate you?" I ask.

"Are you alone?" She asks nervously.

"No I'm with Lauren," I sigh.

"Oh, that's okay, I was going to tell her, put me on speaker," I do as she says.

"Brynn, I just want to let you know, if you like girls I still love you, and I always will," I say reassuring her.

Lauren's mouth drops.

"Wait, you like girls Brynn?" She asks.

"Yeah..." Brynn trails off, "please don't hate me,"

"Why the hell would I? I'm a bit fry!" Lauren squeals.

"I knew it!" I scream.

"How?" Lauren asks.

"Laur, it's obvious, I can just tell," I laugh.

"So I'm gay, Lauren's bi, Kenzie?" Brynn butts in.

"Sorry guys, I'm straight," I sigh, "by I support both of you 100%!"

"Thanks," they say in unison.
