Zoe's POV
Twelve hours.
I skipped work.
I skipped going outside.
I skipped exercise.
My door is locked and I am ashamed to say that I ignore my children's attempt to bring me food.
I just sit on the floor with my knees to my chest.
Its time like this that I really look to God. Searching for answers like 'why'.
He's the only one that can give me the answer....provide me with comfort.
A knock comes from the door and I sigh.
"I don't want any food guys, its okay I'm fine."
"Zoe you're not fine. It's Hayden open the door."
Hayden?
Lunch
I didn't go to work today. Walking towards the door I swing it open to find Hayden with a box of dominios, ice cream and soda.
I sigh again and let him in.
"Close the door behind you and lock it. I'm sorry I missed our little lunch thing today I wasn't feeling up to it."
"Yea...The boys told me what happened..."
"Right." I shrug suddenly feeling nothing.
He sits on the floor and pushes something into the DVD player.
"What is that?"
"A movie." He says acting like I was stupid and I roll my eyes.
"Of course it is. But what movie?"
"Um.. One called...sausage party."
I roll my eyes recalling the trailer but I was amused.
"Wow. Real mature. And PG-13."
"Well currently....we are the parents." He jokes and I giggle.
"Right. Lemme go freshen up. I probably stink."
"You could still call me daddy." He says and I look back at him raising and eyebrow.
"I'm married."
"Correction: getting divorced. Your husband is a douche. Plus I was just kidding no worries." I shake my head smiling while walking into the bathroom to enable myself to stop smelling like a dead coyote.
---------Fifyten minutes later and I'm walking out drying my hair.
I slipped on a huge white shirt and some satin black shorts.
I was fresh!
It felt good to not feel the tightness of crusty eyes and dried tears.
My heart wasn't as heavy but I was still sad.
I got out to see Hayden in PJs. No shirt
The hell?
"What're you doing?" I ask him while he was slipping on his socks.
"Sleepover!" He yells and I immediately shake my head.
"No no no." Its too soon for another adult male to come sleeping in my house.
"Aww? Why?"
"Whose watching Fia?"
"She's at a sleepover with her friend. And I was all alone." He says his face slightly frowning and he averts his eye.
