Chapter Nine: Him again

•Iris's POV•
I haven't heard from Lainey all night and Travis hasn't heard from Cole. Maybe they got back together. I hope so. Everything can go back to normal.
Right now me and Travis were shopping. We were bored and it was raining so we figured the mall would be fun.
It's really awkward between all four of us after everything.
"Travis! Look!" I pointed to a really nice shirt for him.
He nodded his head in approval.
I added it in his pile in his arms.
"Let's go try these on." I said leading him to the dressing room. Earlier I texted Lainey to meet us at the mall. I don't think she will show.
After Travis tried on everything he had to go to the bathroom so I held his stuff.
"Hey cutie." A guy came up to me.
"Thanks, but I have a boyfriend."
"Oh yeah where even is he?"
"In the bathroom."
"I highly doubt that."
I held up my arm and showed him all the men's clothing I was holding.
"I'm not buying these for my self."
"Hey baby." Travis gave me a kiss, "what the fuck are you looking at?" Travis asked the kid.
"Uh, nothing." The kid looked at Travis's buff arms and ran away.
"He was being fucking annoying." I said, "thank goodness you came when you did."
"I love to save my baby." He hugged me and kissed my forehead.
I saw Cole and Lainey in the distance and they were arguing about something. He then grabbed her waist and started kissing her. She pushed him away with her arms folded.
Travis and I decided to go buy the clothes and then go talk to them.
•Lainey's POV•
I decided to go meet Iris at the mall. Cole wanted to come too. We couldn't find them so we went shopping for ourselves. I feel like that's all we do nowadays.
I came out in distressed jeans and I didn't really like them.
"You look so hot in those." Cole said.
"Ew, no. They make my butt look saggy and my stomach looks huge in them."
"No they don't." He grabbed my waist and pulled me Into a kiss.
I pushed him away and folded my arms.
"Try on the other ones." He said.
I came out in a different pair of jeans and he grabbed my butt and but his lip.
"Damn."
Covered my face because a couple of girls were staring at me.
He removed my hands and smiled at me.
"Okay, I think I'll get these."
"Good." He gave me a peck.
After I bought them Cole held my hand in his.
All day I kept my hair in front of my neck because of the hickeys he just had to give me. I'm pretty sure they're are all from him.
I'm not that innocent, I gave him one, or at least I think I did.
"Hey! You... guys made it!" Iris realized we were back together.
"Yeah we weren't doing anything so we figured why not."
Iris pulled me aside and she whispered in my ear, "you gave him a hickey?"
I nodded, "we did it. If you know what I mean."
Iris's jaw dropped, "no way! How was it?"
"It was... actually I can't really remember we were drunk."
"Wow, real romantic."
"Hey at least it's not at my brothers birthday party." I scolded.
"Oh, bite me." She laughed.

Monday rolled around and we were back at school. I kept seeing Ryder everywhere. Which is weird I've never really noticed him before.
"Hey Lainey." He said.
"Hey." I said casual.
"I really did a number on your neck." He moved my hair and chuckled.
"Oh...yeah."
"Why did you freak out the last week?"
"I just uh, I was thinking of my boyfriend."
"Wow. I didn't know you were that low."
"What? I'm not. We weren't together at the time."
"Oh okay."
"When I was kissing you I just thought of him and I don't know."
"Yeah I get it." He nodded.
"We can still be friends." I said.
"Yeah, I'll see you around." He smiled and walked away.
•Cole's POV•
"What the..." I trailed off.
"What dude?" Travis asked.
"Who's that talking to Lainey?" I asked.
I was concerned because he was way more attractive then me. She seemed like she was enjoying his company. As soon as he walked away, I stormed over to Lane and she looked up at me.
"What?" She asked.
"Who was that?"
"Oh that's just Ryder, don't worry about him."
"How do you know him?" I asked.
"You know school." She said.
"Hm... sure." I said.
I put my arm around her shoulders hoping we would run into him.
"Cole, prom is next week right?"
"Yeah and?"
"Do you have your tux and the limo for all of us booked yet? You said you were going to do it."
"I'm going to do that today."
She nodded and we stayed in a comfortable silence.
"I'll get my buddy Henry to take prom pictures for us, he's not going so I figured it would be nice to do that." I said.
"That would be amazing Cole!" She kissed me passionately and hopped off into her class room. I haven't done any prom stuff yet. I'm so behind she's going to freak out on me if I don't get it done.
I wasn't watching where I was going and I ran into a wall.
I looked up and it wasn't a wall it was... him, Ryder.
He's so much bigger up close.
"Sorry about that." I said.
"You're good dude." He started to walk away.
"You're the guy my girlfriend was talking to earlier. How do you guys know each other?" I asked.
He turned around smirking, "you really don't want to know."
"I do want to know."
"Well I met her at that party and then one thing led to another, I mean how else do you think your girlfriend got all those hickeys?" He chuckled.
I had steam pouring out of my ears, "watch your mouth man!"
"Hey, you asked." He shrugged.
"Stay away from her from now on." I said.
"You should really tell her that." He shuffled down the hallway.
What the fuck just happened.
Was that the guy that Lainey was kissing?
•Lainey's POV•
I met up with Cole for lunch. He was pretty quiet. What was his problem?
"Hey babe, you okay?" I rubbed his shoulder.
He looked at me, "really that guy?"
Iris and Travis looked at each other and left, "see ya."
"It was really nothing Cole. I don't even like him." I said.
I leaned my head on his shoulder and he pushed me away.
"Don't act like you didn't mess around with that girl either."
"I didn't let her give me a bunch of hickeys." He got up before I could say anything.
I rolled my eyes and groaned.
Someone sat next to me and it was Ryder.
"What a dick." He said.
"Why would you tell him?"
"I thought he knew."
"He knew that there was a guy not that it was you."
I put my hands on my head.
"I have to go talk to him."
I got up and Ryder was following me. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me into an embrace.
"Get off of me." I tried pushing him away.
He leaned in and tried to kiss me.
He was way to strong for me to resist him.
"She said get off." Cole grabbed him.
Ryder turned around and punched Cole in the face and he was bleeding from his lip. Cole pounced on Ryder punching him repeatedly in the face. They rolled over and it was the opposite now.
"Stop!" I shouted.
I tried to pull him off of Cole but I got punched in the gut instead by Ryder.
"Fuck, I'm sorry." Ryder turned around to say.
A teacher came running down the hall to separate them.
"Oh shit." I said.
My stomach was absolutely killing me. That was a mistake.
We were all escorted to the principals office.
We got interviewed one by one. Cole got a three day suspension and Ryder got a five day because he hit me too. I know he didn't mean it.
We were sitting in the nurses office. I had an ice pack for my stomach and the nurse was cleaning up Cole's bloody and bruised face.
Ryder's face wasn't as messed up as Cole's so he just went straight home.
Cole sat down next to me and smiled weakly.
"I'm really sorry..." I said looking down.
"I'm just glad you're okay." He patted my thigh.
"I didn't want that to happen."
"I know, Lane. It's okay, really as long as your safe, it's okay."
