Hey everyone,

First of all I know many of you are probably very disappointed knowing this isn't an update after getting a notification since it's been years since I've updated this story, but that's actually what I want to talk about. As you may have already guessed by the title, the altered book title and by my absence (since November i know), I'm officially putting this story on hold. 

I hate that I'm doing this because I freaking love this story and the little altered world of the Flash I created and Spencer Hathaway and of course our Sparry. But I've just lost touch with it. I kept telling you guys that it was because I had no time and when I did during my senior year of high school, I was unmotivated because of all the stress I was under. But now I only have a few more weeks of summer break before I start college and I haven't written a thing all summer. And its not because I've been busy, it's because my heart wasn't in the story. And I have a few reasons for that apart from my lack of determination to write.

1) I'm actually really far behind on The Flash- I missed the last few episodes of season 2 as they aired but I read online what happened. And for some reason I never ended up watching them. Then I began season 3 fresh but because of school I fell behind again. And it's not because I stopped liking the show, I'd still consider it one of my favorites. But other things like school took priority (I'm actually behind on way too many shows not just this). So my lack of involvement in the show made it harder to write when I wasn't already planning in my head what would happen with Spencer as I watched an episode. 

2) Iris West- Before any one says anything, because I know how a lot of people feel about her based on comments I've seen on this story, I just want to make clear how much I love her. I think Iris is an amazing character (not to mention I adore Candice Patton) and I think West Allen is a great couple. I wouldn't necessarily call them one of my top ships from across all of my fandoms but i do really like them. And before anyone says anything about how this is a work of fanfiction and they don't have to be together in this story (because team sparry ftw) but knowing the major part of the Flash's storyline is Barry and Iris's relationship, its incredibly hard to write around that. It would no longer be me just throwing in another character and altering the story slightly, it would be changing the whole thing. And I know others do it and that's great! More power to everyone! But it does require a bit more work for me that I'm not really about. And that brings me to my last reason.

3) I'm about to be a college student, living actual life. And its crazy and exciting! And while I should have more time on my plate, I don't know if I'll be able to spend it on this story. And its not because I wouldn't want to exactly but stories like this are harder to write as I watch the episode as I write and take lines straight from the show's transcript. That's very time consuming and part of the reason I've delayed writing each chapter towards the end back in the fall. 

That being said, I don't want to stop writing altogether, because it has been a passion of mine for so long. In fact, I'm even studying writing for film/tv (but that's something I can get into another time). I also might even try to finish out this book or at least write some more chapters so I can give you all what you've been waiting for, and ultimately what all you lovely people deserve for sticking by me for so long! *cough*sparry*cough*

If you have read my behind the author book, you may have seen that I said I was thinking about doing a Marvel related book which I know is similar to this style of writing, but might be easier considering movies are shorter than tv seasons. But I've been going back and forth on that idea all summer so we'll see what happens with that. 

I've also decided to cancel the teen wolf series I was planning on doing because I've lost interest in teen wolf (I have not seen a single episode of season 6 but I don't wanna say why because i don't want to start any drama...) but I'll watch the ending for my boy Derek. And who knows, maybe in the future I'll feel nostalgic enough to bring it back. 

Also, I want to try writing some original stories that have been swirling around my head for so long. And I know how much you loved this story and I would understand your lack of interest in my writing without it, but hopefully you'll stick around to see what stories I try my hand at in the future. If not, I would love for any of you to just stick around for a friend because I'm always open to talking to each and every one of you! But any and all support from you guys from here on out would be greatly appreciated.

Because for my final point I want to say how much all of your comments and support has meant to me these last few years! I still remember the people who were first discovering distance and the few who were constants on every update. I seriously love you all for even spending a second reading something I've written (and honestly bless you all because going back and reading some of the stuff I wrote in the beginning is so cringe worthy to me lol). Again I just want to make clear that I myself am not going anywhere. If anyone wants to talk about anything and everything, I'm always checking my inbox and message board. And again I'd love to see you all in any of my future works! You all are seriously the best and keep me going!

Once again I'm so sorry for having to put this story on hold. But hopefully once I get back into the Flash, I can provide you all with some closure and some Sparry!
