Connor got out of the car and escorted Evan into his house. "Hey assholes," he said when he walked into the house.

"Language! Where were you?! Who's with you?!" Connor's mom yelled.

"Why do you care where I was? And that's my soulmate, Evan Hansen," Connor responded.

"He's not staying here, young man!" Connor's father yelled.

"No fucking duh! Why would I want him to be here with you bitches? I'm getting my stuff and leaving with him!" Connor yelled back.

"Whatever! Leave! Go to Hell!"

"I will! And see you there!" Connor dragged Evan to grab his things.

"C-Connor, what was that?" Evan mumbled as they reached Connor's room.

"I- sorry. They just- make me so mad. I can't deal with it." Connor reached the medicine cabinet, and found which medications were his.

"It's okay. D-do you have all of your stuff? We can t-talk to my mom about you moving in. J-just go ahead and get all your stuff now. I-I don't want to come back to this p-place."

"Yeah, and thanks." Connor grabbed all of his stuff and gave it to Evan. "Can you.. take this out to my car? I want to talk to my sister before I leave.."

"O-okay. But if they s-start yelling at me, you'll come. R-right?"

"Yes, just write to me," Connor said, then walked over to his sisters room.

"O-okay." Evan went downstairs as quickly and as quietly as he could. He was about to walk out the door went Connor's parents started fighting. Evan quickly went outside and hid in Connor's car.

"Hey, Zo, I- I'm gonna leave. You're not gonna hear this ever again, but I will miss you and I love you. If mom and dad become too much, go to Evan's. Unless you find your soulmate, then forget about me and stick with them."

"Con, they're fighting. I'm in the car." Evan wrote after waiting a bit.

Connor left his sister, not even hearing her reply, and went to Evan in the car.

~~~~~
"Sorry about that.."
"I-it's okay. I don't t-think they saw me. I-I texted my mom. S-she said you can stay with us. That it would be g-good for me," Evan said, trying to smile.
"Yay!" Connor bubbled up with happiness, then scooted closer to Evan. He gave the other a sweet kiss on the cheek, then added, "I am so glad to finally be out of that hell hole."
"I can tell," Evan said giggling. "Let's go home. W-we need to get your stuff put up."
"Okay." Connor drove to Evan's house.
~~~~

"So, um, there's something I've been meaning to ask you, Ev.." Connor fidgeted nervously.

"W-what is it?"

"Do you wanna, go on an official date? We could go to A La Mode, maybe just hang out like normal people?"

"N-now? I was thinking we could go home and m-maybe watch The Lorax and t-talk? Maybe c-cuddle?" Evan said, moreso as questions than statements.

"Yeah, that sounds good. I just want to take you to that ice cream place some time, doesn't matter when."

"O-okay. We're almost home, and I don't r-really feel like being around people today. I'm sorry."

"It's fine, I understand." Connor arrived in the driveway, then got out of the car. He ran around the car then opened the door for Evan.

"Thanks, Con. Want me to help you carry your stuff? We're going to put it in my room."

"Yeah, sure."

Evan grabbed some of Connor's stuff and put it in his room. He smiled and wrote on his wrist "I'm going to get the movie set up in our room."

Connor was a bit stunned, then wrote, "our?" I mean, he would love it, but it didn't seem possible.

"Is it too soon? I'm sorry."

"No, no, it's perfect" Connor scribbled down, then ran up to their room. Their room.
