Bey POV

I traced aimlessly over my floral design of a pencil skirt. The sketch was already perfection in my eyes but there were some minor details I knew Suzanne would hone in on. I smiled as I worked. I knew by the time I made it home Nicki would be back and New York and I, back in her warm embrace.

Besides our breakup in July this was the longest time I we've went without seeing each other. I was so excited I could barely sleep the night before, tossing and turning before giving up on sleep altogether around 7am. I used the extra time to curl my hair and make my tired eyes pop. I looked as happy as I felt.

My stomach rumbled in annoyance, once again reminding me why I shouldn't have skipped lunch. Thankfully Kelly came in for the save ten minutes later with takeout.

"Damn Bey, don't choke." Kelly frowned at me.

I slurped the noodle hanging out of my mouth

I slurped the noodle hanging out of my mouth. "Sorry."

"Skipped lunch again?"

I nodded. "Deadline."

Kelly gave me a knowing look. "At least you're in the clear until the launch."

"Not exactly."

There were still a million little details left on my plate that needed to be tended to. Even though I was a junior designer on paper, I had the workload of someone getting paid more to do the same duties. I would address that with Suzanne later though.

"I'm stuck doing everyone's bitch work and on top of that Nicki is gonna be here soon even though I can't really afford to play this weekend, but I haven't seen her in so long I'm gonna explode if we don't spend any time together." I was whining. I could hear in my ears how much of a baby I was being.
