"I've saved you plenty of times too, daylighter." I say rolling my eyes as I sit safely upright in my chair again. It was true, I helped save him when he got kidnapped by the vampires, and the werewolves, and pretty much everything else. "And I was just falling out of a chair, it's not like it was life threatening."

"Fine, next time I'll let you fall," Simon says as takes his seat across from me again. He changed the subject, thankfully, and asked,"So, you really don't have a date tonight?"

"Nope."

"Well, neither do I," he says; I raise my eyebrow,"How about we do something together? Like, a non-romantic thing? A Valentine's Day friends date?"

"Is that even a thing?" I ask, laughing.

"Well, it is now." He says with a chuckle. "So?"

"Sure, it's a date." I say smiling, then add,"A 'friend' date."

"That outfit can't be comfortable, so how about you go home and change then I'll pick you up?"

"Sure," I say, standing to leave,"make sure you are there by six because I don't want to be there when Magnus and Alec come home," I say, shuddering slightly,"That has happened once before."

"Okay, at six. Got it," he says, nodding in agreement. "You know, you could probably stay with me tonight, so you don't have to risk seeing something again. And it won't really be that awkward, you, Clary, and I have had sleepovers a lot when we were younger. I remember that one time when we were playing truth or dare and you had to-"

"Yes." I say, trying to shut him up before he revealed the very, very embarrassing things I did in my past to the whole restaurant,"to the sleepover, I mean."

"See you at six, Aaliyah."

My singing is interrupted by a knock on the door. My eyes grow wide as I quickly turn down the music. I check the time on my phone and notice it was 6:00; I had been too distracted by Beyoncé that I lost track of time. I throw on a beige wool cardigan to go over my vintage floral dress.

"Aaliyah?" I hear Simon call from the front door,"Are you here?"

"Yeah, I'll be there in a second!" I call back, grabbing my mascara wand and running it over my lashes nearly poking myself in the eye."I just need to--!"

"What are you listening to?" Simon asks with a chuckle as he enters my room. He is wearing one of Raphael's suits, like he did for Alec's wedding that never happened. He looked very, very attractive. I blush and turn off the Beyoncé music that is playing, "And you look very nice, did you actually wake up like this?"

"Oh shut up," I say, pulling on some flats that I have laying on the floor,"You look nice too, by the way."

"Raphael lent me one of his suits," Simon said proudly, flattening out a wrinkle on his chest,"I was surprised he let me take it, I remember how angry he got last time."

"He must be in a good mood," I say, shoving my phone into my duffle bag and pull it over my shoulder. "Maybe he has a date, afterall it is Valentine's Day. Speaking of, where are you taking me?"

"It's a surprise."

"Ughh," I sigh, I hate surprises. "Can't you just tell me?"

"Well, where's the fun in that?" Simon grins, as he pushes open the apartment door and gestures for me to walk through it. I roll my eyes and thank him as I step through,"Fine, I'll give you a hint. You'll absolutely love it."

"Impossible," I say, "I absolutely hate everything. Unless, you are taking me to nothing, then perhaps I'll love it."

"You love Mozart, don't you?" He asks, I cringe slightly at this. I used to get incredible flustered every time I saw Simon and I may have told him that I had a crush on Mozart. Yeah, not my best moment. "Jokes aside, I'm pretty sure you will love it, trust me. This is going to be the best date you've ever been on."

"Well it kinda has to be," I say looking down as we walk outside together. He looks to me in confusion,"Its the only date I've ever been on."

And it's true, even if this is just a 'friend' date, I'll take whatever I can get. It's not like I'm going to be starting any romantic sparks anytime soon.
