Practice 2

"Hey Taylor." Mario said when we got on the ice.

"Yes sir?" I asked.

"Can you play a one-on-one game with Geno?" He asked.

"Umm yeah sure." I said then I won the face off and scored 2 goals and geno scored 4. We didn't have a goalie so it was easy to score.

"You can really play. What position do you usually play?" Mario asked.

"Usually I am defense. Why are you asking?" I asked.

"Dan told me that Neal told him that you are a really good player. They weren't lying." He said.

"Well thank you sir." I said.

"Would you practice with the team today? To see how well you play defense? You don't have to if you don't want to." He said.

"I would love too. Thank you." I said.

"No problem. Can't wait to see you at practice." He said and skated off.

"Wow. Mario like you." Geno said. I laughed.

"Yeah. I didn't think I was good." I said.

"Are you joking? You really good." He said.

"Thanks Geno." I said and kissed his cheek.

"I think he want you play with us." He said.

"I can't play with you guys." I said.

"Why not? Scared?" He asked.

"No. I just need my teeth." I said. He laughed.

"I think you should play." He said.

"Okay. I'll think about it." I said then we went to the penguin and listen to Dan's instructions for practice.

I did everything Dan told me to. It was really easy. And really fun. The whole time I thought about what geno said. Yeah I wanted to play. But people are sexist so they would go easy on me. I can't take easy. I wanna punch someone in the face if I played with the pens. After practice I had a meeting with Dan and Mario.

"Taylor," Mario said,"We think you are a really good defensemen. Would you be interested in playing with us in tonight's game against the capitals?" I was speechless. I wanted to play but ovi was tough.

"I would love too. But I don't have a jersey. And what name would we put on it?" I asked.

"Umm... Crosby is gonna be your step dad right?" Dan asked. I nodded. "Then it can be 'T. CROSBY' and whatever number you want. Sound good Mario?" Mario nodded. I thought about it for a couple minuets.

"Sounds good! Can I be number 64 because of that Beatles song 'when I'm 64'?" I asked.

"Yup. So 'T. CROSBY' with the number 64?" Mario asked.

"Yes sir." I said.

"Okay. I'll go have it made now." He said.

"Bye. Thank you." I said. He waved and walked out of the room.

"I'm glad to have you on my team." Dan said.

"I'm glad to play." I said. Then we heard Sidney call my name out.

"Better go. Sounds like they're gonna leave you." He said. I laughed.

"Bye coach!!" I yelled and ran to Sidney.

"Yeah?" I asked when I got to him.

"What?" He asked.

"Didn't you call my name?" I asked confused.

"No. I yelled out Taylor for Taylor Pyatt." He said.

"Ohhh makes sense." I said.

"But good job. You didn't forget you name today!" He said.

"I only did that once." I said and skated to Geno.

"GENO!!" I yelled and sprayed ice on him.

"Gezz. What do that for?" He asked.

"Because I love you and I'm playing in tonight's game!" I said.

"Really? That amazing!!" I said.

"I know right!!" I said.

"Yes!" He said,"ice cream?" He asked a stupid question.

"Yes I want ice cream!!!" I said. He laughed.

"Then come one." He said and went left Consol to go get ice cream from Dairy Queen.
