Chapter 15
"Andy! You're going to be late!" Mom shouted from downstairs. I sighed and continued to look at myself in the mirror. My dark brown hair was down in it's natural waves, and my dark green eyes was surrounded by a little mascara. I was wearing a graphic tee with dark jeans and a little jacket. Paired with a lovely pair of black converses. This was as good as it was going to get today.
I grabbed my backpack and walked out of my extremely messy room. Putting on one strap I started to walk down stairs. Lost in thought.
It has been a few days since Mickey's party. A few days since I've admitted out loud that I might have a crush on Jason Anderson. I know! I know! He's an asshole. A very very hot ass-I stumbled a little on the last step. Literally almost died. Note to self: Pay attention when you're walking down stairs.
"What was taking you so long up there?" Mom asked, suddenly appearing before my eyes. Creepy. I shrugged and grabbed a granola bar from the pantry. My mom rolled her eyes and started typing away at her phone. Such a great conversation we're having here.
"I can't believe you're still here and not at work. Do you have work today?" I asked, while I took a bite out of my granola bar. Crumbs started spilling everywhere. My mom's eyes followed the crumb trails before she looked at me with disapproving eyes.
"Yes I have work today, I just decided to sleep in a little. I wanted to see you before you left for school. I wanted to let you know that I'll be here for dinner tonight. We're having guests over." Mom said giving me a small smile. Guests?
"Guests?" I asked out loud, groaning internally. Mom nodded,
"Guests." I waited for her to elaborate but when I got nothing but silence I cleared my throat and moved on.
"Well I guess that's that. I'll make sure to be home for dinner with our...guests." I said finishing up my granola bar and throwing away the wrapper, "I'm off to school now. Have fun at work. Love you." I said giving my mom a hug. She hugged me back,
"Good luck at school, and love you too." I gave her a small wave as I walked out the door. Lola's car was sitting in the driveway, waiting for me. I gave her an apologetic smile and slipped into the passenger seat.
"Sorry Lo, I was talking to my mom. Apparently we're having guests over for dinner tonight." I said shuddering at the thought. Guests over for dinner usually means mom invited one of her co-worker's family over for dinner. The dinner is usually boring and filled with my mom and her co-worker talking about work and me having to participate in awkward small talk with the family.
"Oh yikes, well here's something that might cheer you up. There's a video of Reese going around school. It almost has as many views as the video of you dancing in the cafeteria that one day. Remember that? Remember when you danced like a maniac in front of the entire school-"
"Alright." I interrupted, not wanting to discuss the cafeteria incident, "There's no need to bring that up or diss my amazing dancing. People should stop hating and take notes!" I declared raising a fist in the air. Lola gave me the side eye as she was driving.
"....right. So I only bring up the Reese video because something tells me you had something to do with that." Lola said giving me a questioning look. I looked out the window, trying to ignore her pointed looks.
"Who me? I'm just now hearing about this video. I didn't post it, but whoever did sounds like a really cool person. Something tells me that they probably have mad dancing skills as well." I said shrugging casually. Lola stopped the car at a red light and gave me a look that told me she didn't believe me.
