Hiroshima

6 August 1945

There was a blinding light,
Then there was no more.
From the sky you could see
a mushroom of smoke coming from a city.
The smoke covered the city like a cloth that covers a table.
Once the cloth had been removed,
All that was left was in ruin.
Nature had been destroyed,
People were no more.
Animals were no where to be found.
It is a city of ashes,
Which was once a city of life.

Hiroshima is no more.
Innocent people suffered at the hands of war.
The American soldiers survived another day.
But innocent people lost many.
No child will play.
No adult will smile.
No animal will graze.
No Hiroshima

                        Author's note
Hi everyone sorry i have not been updating. This was a poem i had to written for my history project. I dedicate this poem to all the people who died that day. To the soldiers who fought in the war to bring about peace in the world. Even though it may not be a very warm poem. It shows the pain of those who were involved.
