Do not wear a binder for more than eight hours. Do not sleep in your binder.

If you do sleep in your binding, take it off immediately and don't wear it for a week. I know dysphoria sucks, but put your body first; it needs a break.

When you first get a binder, don't wear it for the full eight hours. Wear it for an hour, then take it off. Then three hours. Then five. Slowly build up to eight hours to break the binder in.

To know if your binder fits, stretch and take a deep breath. If there's no pain or tightness, you're good.

When buying a binder, a l w a y s use that site's sizing chart, as it may change for each site. I also advise having someone else measure you to be sure what your size is. If you fall between two sizes, always go for the bigger one.

After taking off your binder, cough a few times; it helps clear out any fluid that may have built up.
