Thomas sat in his office, well, it's sort of an office. Really, he had shoved his bed between his office and bedroom so if he wanted to get from one to the other he had to roll across his bed, Angelica still calls him weird for it. Speaking of Angelica, he was in the middle of missing her. Angelica Schuyler, or more accurately, Angelica Jefferson, his wife. He and Angelica have been married for about twelve years now, he still didn't believe it himself, currently, though Angelica was at Alexander Hamilton's, his political enemy, to visit her sister and her sister's children. That's one thing that stung about marrying the woman, he was stuck with being the brother-in-law to the vile Hamilton.

His head snapped up when he heard the tiny steps up the stairs that made him smile, he knew exactly who it was. About five years ago Angelica announced she was pregnant, and now they had a beautiful daughter by the name of Mary Jefferson. There was a small knock on the door before she entered without waiting for an answer, "Mommy? My hair is in my eye again...mommy?" She held her bangs up and looked around confused.

Thomas rolled across his bed and picked his daughter up, twirling around with her, "Hello my dear! Your mother has gone to visit your auntie and cousins." He said and sat down on his bed with her, "What do you need, muffin?" He asked, ruffling her very long and curly hair.

"Mommy braids my hair," Mary said, "So it doesn't get in my eyes." She held her bangs up again and made a whining noise. Thomas chuckled and thought about how to braid before realizing he had no idea how to.

"I can uh-I can put it in a ponytail?" He suggested. He knew how to put his hair up though he rarely did it anymore as everybody mistakes him for his friend Lafayette whenever he does, he just hoped it's not as different to put somebody else's hair up.

"Okay," Mary said and turned around so he had full access to her beautiful hair. Thomas, nervously, located a hair tie and began attempting to tame Mary's unruly curls. Unfortunately, Mary had inherited the curls from both her parents causing her to have what was basically a mane on her head.

After a few minutes of struggling and making sure he didn't pull his daughter's hair, he managed to get her hair into a sloppy and loose hair tie, "Well..." He sighed and tightened it weakly, "I tried." He said, admitting defeat.

Mary shook her head wildly to see if the ponytail stuck and it did, she turned around and hugged Thomas, "I love you for trying, daddy." She said as Thomas smiled and hugged back. Mary pulled back and bluntly said, "But mommy still does it better."

Thomas chuckled and went to reply but the front door opened causing Mary to bolt down the stairs while calling for Angelica. Thomas get up and followed, seeing Angelica pick their daughter up and ask, "What has your father done to your hair?"

"Hey! Don't judge it, I tried." Thomas said, pouting as he joined his wife and child in front of their front door, "It's not that bad..." He said and kissed Angelica's forehead softly.

"It is so much worse than bad," Angelica replied and carried Mary to their sitting room where she undid Thomas's sad attempt at a hairdo and redid it in a beautiful French braid. Thomas wouldn't admit how jealous he was of Angelica's hair skills though he guessed that since Angelica always had beautifully done hair she must have a natural inclination with it. "There you go baby," She said and set Mary down.

"Thanks, mommy, love you." Mary replied as she felt her hair before running off yelling, "I'm gonna go play now!" Thomas sat beside Angelica and chuckled as he watched their daughter's retreat.

"She's beautiful just like you." Thomas said as he kissed the top of Angelica's head, "I hope she has your spunk though, personality, the world could use more women like you." He said honestly as he pulled her closer.

"I know," Angelica said as she leaned against him, "If I have my way then Mary will be way better than I ever was or am." She closed her eyes, "You ever want more children?" She asked before he could object to her earlier statement.

"Oh God yes," Thomas smiled, "More than anything." He loved children after Mary was born he instantly began thinking about having another child but anytime he brought it up Angelica said she didn't want another one yet, that she was still enjoying raising Mary.

"Okay, but under one condition," Angelica said, Thomas hummed to show he was listening to her, "If we have a boy then he has to be named Philip, after my father, just like what Eliza did with her son."

Thomas nodded, "Of course, darling." He had named Mary so it made sense that Angelica got to name their next kid, besides, he respected Philip Schuyler immensely and had no qualms about naming a son after him.

"That settles that then, let's go see what Mary's up to." Angelica left and Thomas watched her retreat as he smiled to himself, going over how lucky he was to end up with an amazing woman and how he must have been on some sort of luck streak to have a beautiful daughter and a possible future child too. After he'd finished thinking he got up to join Angelica and Mary at their imaginary tea party.
