Eliza sighed as she checked her bank balance online, again Alexander had failed to pay child support for Philip. This was starting to get annoying and a little sad, she was already struggling as a single mom but the lack of child support really didn't help. She tried to shake it off as she stood up and went to wake Phil up for the day.

Eliza entered his room, walking quietly over to the side of his race car bed and sitting down beside his figure, his back rising and falling with each breath. She placed her hand on his back and shook him lightly, "Philip," She whispered, peeling his blanket back slowly as his eyebrows scrunched together. Eliza giggled and kissed his forehead, "Time to get up hun." She said at the same low volume. She got up to let the toddler wake up on his own as she got an outfit for him together

Eliza found some simple blue overalls and a red long sleeved shirt, it was getting a bit chilly so it was appropriate. She found underwear of course and then Spiderman socks with Phil's Thor tennis shoes. She turned to Philip as he said a quiet, "Mommy I'm hungry."

Eliza giggled, "Then you'd better get dressed so we can go to Waffle House!" At the mention of his favorite restaurant Philip jumped from his bed and tried to get his sleeper off but only ended up in getting his zipper stuck halfway down.

Eliza smiled and crouched down to his level, unzipping him the rest of the way before helping him into his clothes. Eliza picked him up when he was dressed and went downstairs, grabbing her car keys and wallet as she did before going outside to her Mazda. She strapped him in before giving him his firetruck and dinosaur toys to keep him busy as she climbed into the driver's seat.

Eliza started the car as Philip started chanting, "Waffle house! Waffle House!" As she drove, her smile never leaving her face as she listened to her son be as happy as a bean. Eliza turned the radio on and sang along to the songs that came on until Philip said, "You should let it sing by itself." Which made her laugh before turning into the parking lot for Waffle House which had Philip chanting again.

Eliza rolled into a parking lot before putting the car in park and getting out, getting Philip out and putting him on her hip as she locked the car with the key fob. She bounced Philip, "How many pancakes can you eat?" She asked as she walked inside with him.

"Yes," Was his answer making her laugh and agree that he could eat that many. They walked inside and sat down at a booth after Philip loudly declared a king like him deserves a booth seat and Eliza agreed, she didn't stifle or punish his creativity.

Eliza slid Philip his kid's menu when they had been seated, "It had pictures so look through and tell me what you want." She told him and he nodded, looking through the pancake pictures aggressively. She watched him with love before realizing she needed to figure out her own order so she snapped back to the menu and cringed at the prices, she really needed to stop spoiling Philip with these outings because her bank account was taking a beating.

"This one!" Philip yelled and Eliza looked up at the picture he was pointing out, "The pancake baseball!" He yelled, his finger on top of a picture of a pancake decorated to look like a baseball. Eliza looked at her own menu and decided on the triple pancake.

"And chocolate milk for a drink?" Eliza asked, she already knew the answer because chocolate milk was basically tradition for them now. Philip agreed energetically and she smiled and ordered for them.

Eliza ruffled Philip's hair from across the table and he giggled, swiping at her hand as she smiled softly. Eliza felt a presence beside her so she looked over at a man with crazy hair, "Anybody sitting here? If not can I stay?" He asked politely.

Eliza dropped her gaze a bit embarrassed, "Um no-nobody's staying there-sitting there." She took a deep breath in order to calm down, "And you can stay..." She had always wanted more friends and this seemed a good enough time to start, "My name is Eliza and this is-"

"-I'm Philip!" Her son yelled, jumping to his feet on the seat and throwing his hands up with determination.

"Don't stand on furniture," Eliza scolded gently and nodded approvingly when Philip sat back down. She collected the menus and set them in the middle of the table, "You want to get anything?" She asked.

The man shook his head, "I actually finished eating but I saw your face and you were just so pretty I had to say hi~" He said quietly and Eliza blushed, putting some of her hair behind her ear, "My name is Thomas Jefferson."

"O-My last name is Schuyler." She told him and then looked at Philip, "His is Hamilton...I wish it was Schuyler."

Thomas furrowed his eyebrows slowly, "Hamilton...his father wouldn't happen to be Alexander Hamilton now would it?" He asked and Eliza's eyes widened in shock as Philip confirmed his speculation, "But...you two are no longer together?"

Eliza shook her head and thanked the waiter when their food arrived, she gave Philip his and cut it up before picking at hers, "We fought a lot and then one day I told him we shouldn't fight to stay together just to fight again...and he told me to um...he didn't take it very well and now we're separated for good." He explained slowly.

"Well..." Thomas took a piece of paper out of what looked like a pocketbook and he scribbled a number on the back of the paper and crossed the front out, sliding her the paper, "That means I have no reason not to hit on you with no shame." He told her with a wink.

Eliza blushed and looked down but she added Thomas's number to her phone and sent him a quick text so he could add her. She looked at him and bit her lip before gaining as much courage as she could to ask, "Would you want to...get coffee some time?"

Thomas nodded, "More than anything-or I mean, absolutely I do." He put his hand over hers gently and she blushed darker but let him.

"Mommy is red," Philip commented making Eliza want to disappear into a hole as Thomas chuckled.

Thomas stayed through the rest of the meal and prompted Eliza to eat instead of dwell on bad emotions which she was thankful for. When the bill came Thomas snatched it before Eliza could, "Whoa-hey I-Thomas that really isn't..." She felt bad for having him pay for it.

"I really don't mind," Thomas told her as he signed the recipe and put the bill back, "Because I want to be yours and you to be mine-keep in mind I mean eventually I don't mean to rush you-but I subscribe to gender roles so I'll pay." He smiled and Eliza felt her own smile tug at her lips.

"Waffle House!" Philip yelled at them making them laugh again.
