*twelve years later*

Swiftly the redheaded girl ran alongside the wolf pack, a grin on her face. She ran on two legs this time, twin daggers in her hands. Her red hair flowed behind her in the wind. She gained speed and was soon running alongside the wolf at the head of the group, a large brown she-wolf, her fur faintly grey with age. A group of five wolves followed behind, each of them a different color.

The brown she-wolf lifted her snout, checking for scents. She barked orders to the wolves running behind her, who barked in reply, accepting the orders. Soon, multiple yards away, a heard of deer was spotted. The wolves charged forward, letting out howls. Once close enough, the wolves pounced, claws pinning down their prey and swiftly snapping their necks.

The redheaded girl was quick to bring down a good sized deer, which appeared to be at least twice her size. The dagger she held sliced through its chest with one swift motion, the girl muttering a prayer under her breath. She then stood, pulling the dagger from the animal's flesh and cleaning off the blood. The surrounding wolves took their catches in their mouths, waiting for the lead huntress to say to return to camp.

Owlfeather look around at the surrounding hunters, a proud smile on her face. The pack would be eating well that night.

"Return to camp hunters." She barked. The wolves quickly began their travel back to camp, running through the woods with their prey. Owlfeather stalked over to the redhead, who was struggling to lift up the doe.

"Need help Fire-Flower?" Owlfeather chuckled, watching the girl struggle. Fire-Flower sighed, nodding her head. Owlfeather bent down, lifting up the doe.

"You did well, I'll make sure everyone knows that you caught this one." Fire-flower smiled gratefully at the lead huntress.

"Thank you. Sorry I could not carry it." Owlfeather shook her head.

"No need to apologize, you are a brilliant hunter. You catch a lot of the prey the pack eats, that is all I ask for. I do not mind if you cannot always carry your catches." Fire-Flower nodded slightly and looked up at the sky.

"We should return to camp quickly, the other hunters got a bit of a head start." Owlfeather nodded in agreement and the two quickly began to run through the woods, Fire-Flower having no trouble keeping up with Owlfeather.

They soon made it back to camp, where they found the other hunters waiting.

"Let us feed our pack." Owlfeather said, walking into the camp, Fire-Flower by her side and the other hunters following close behind. Many of the pack members lifted their heads at the scent of prey, their mouths watering. A large golden wolf stood, walking forward to meet up with the hunters.

"I assume the hunt went well?" He asked. The she-wolf nodded.

"Very. Fire-Flower caught the doe here and the rest of my hunters all caught deer as well." The Alpha nodded and the hunters stepped forward, placing the deer carcasses in a pile of sorts.

"Let us eat, no wolf shall go hungry tonight!" The Alpha announced, much to everyone's pleasure. Wolves howled in joy at the fact that no one would be staving that night.

Fire-Flower lay on her back, looking up at the stars above. The large golden wolf lay next to her, his head tilted up to look at the stars as well.

"Each and every wolf to of ever lived will end up there one day Little Flame. Our ancestors are watching us, keeping us safe." A small smile appeared on her face at the thought of the wolves of old watching over her.

"And the moon wolf lives up there too, she watches us through out the night." Lionheart said, his gaze flickering from the stars to the moon.

"And the sun wolf watches over us throughout the day, and the forest wolf makes sure we have prey and a home, and the river wolf provides us with water to drink." Fire-Flower murmured, repeating what she had been taught when she was younger.

"Indeed. The wolves of the world watch over us Little Flame, they keep us safe." Fire-Flower smiled, snuggling into Lionheart's side.

"Sleep well, Little Flame." Lionheart whispered, laying his head on his paws.
