Megan's POV

Here I am. Sitting in the passenger seat while Justin is driving us to the restaurant for a family dinner. I thought we would be able to skip this so called "family dinner", but it seemed as mom and Pattie really wanted us there.

At first when mom called me and told me that she had a dinner reservation at one of the best restaurants in town, I thought that she was kidding. Mom and Pattie apparently wanted to have the first dinner as a family at one of the most expensive restaurants. If you ask me, I think it's a little bit overboard, but as long as I'm not the one paying the check then I guess I'm okay with it.

She called me today while I was at school, so at first I didn't want to answer because, well, because it was my mom and I didn't want her to ruin my mood. But I decided against ignoring because I knew I would get in trouble. Even though we don't live together, she still manages to have all this power over me and I don't know how?

The first thing I did when I went home was to pick out an outfit that I knew mom would approve of. I for sure knew that she would send me back home to change if I showed up with a pair of skinny jeans and a simple t-shirt. And I'm saying this by experience. She totally did that to me one time..

So right now, I'm wearing a bright pink short dress that reaches just above my knees with a pair of pink high heels. I also made a lot if effort on my hair and makeup. (pic --> )

The car pulls to an stop and I get out of the car. The restaurant is big and I can see trough the windows big that the place is packed. Justin starts walking towards the door and I follow behind him. He opens the door and let's himself in totally ignoring me. He could've at least held the door open to me.

He walks to the front desk and and says "Reservation by Bieber?"

The lady behind the reception desk takes one look at Justin and asks us to follow her. The lady starts showing us the way and we follow her trough the restaurant. She walks all the to the corner of the big room and sure enough I can see dad chatting and laughing with Jeremy while drinking wine, well I think that is wine.

As soon as we approach the big table, Pattie stands up from her chair and gives me a big hug and her usual perfume makes it's way trough my nose.

''I'm so happy you two could make it'' she says after hugging Justin to and sits back down again.

I see that there are only two seats left and they're beside each other, of course. I sit down on the one that is next to Pattie while Justin sits on the one next to my Jeremy. Pattie and Jeremy are seated on the ends of the long table and my parents are seated in front of us.

''Yeah, me to'' I reply. I make eye contact with mom and she just nods at me as a greeting.

''Where are Jazmyn and Jaxon? I thought this was a family dinner.'' Justin asks, clearly being confused. They did say that it was a family dinner, so where are Justin's siblings then?

''We didn't think that they would be allowed here, so we left them at home with their babysitter.'' Pattie replies. I think that Justin really wanted them to be here, cause I think that he misses them. He has a good relationship with them and I know that he loves them a lot. Sometimes when he has friends over at our house, all he talks about is his siblings, Jazmyn and Jaxon.

''You look great Megan.'' she says, changing the subject. Mom eyes me up and down, and nods, once again in approval. At least she likes my clothing choice for tonight.

''Thank you Pattie, so do you.''

Justin joined Jeremy and dads conversation instead of listening to me and his mom complimenting each other.

"So, how have you been? It feels like we haven't talked in forever. How's school going?"

''I've been okay, thanks for asking and school has been going really good. I really can't wait until I finish high school." I reply with a huge grin on my face. I have wanted to graduate for so long now and I'm really trying really hard at school so that I get as good grades as I can since I want to get accepted in a good collage.

I've been thinking about my future a lot lately. I have always wanted to be an architect just like my dad. I remember when I was younger, I used to draw houses and pretend that when I grow, my house would look just like that. But now I don't know anymore. Since this whole arranged engagement thing with Justin, I'm not sure how my future will look like. But I know for sure that I'll go to collage, I'm not quitting now.

"Have you thought about which collage you would like to attend?" She asks, her bright red lips turn into a warm caring smile.

"No, not really." Mom is just sitting there staring at me with an unknown facial expression. Is there something on my face?

I look around me to take in the surroundings. The walls are painted light brown and the one thing that catches my attention is the bar. I know what you're thinking, why are you staring at the bar that serves alcoholic drinks when you're clearly underage? Well, the thing is, in February this year, I went on a vacation to Sweden with my parents to visit some family members, and in Sweden, you have to be at least 18 years old to drink alcohol, and while I was there, I became good friends with the alcohol. And when I came back to the United States, I never stopped drinking, but I don't drink to much, I never really get drunk because I can handle my liquid.

____

I've been sitting here for probably an hour and a half and I think I'm going to pass out any second. It's so boring and it feels like this dinner is useless. But I guess it's a good thing that they're not bringing up grandchildren.

Mom and Pattie have been talking about Masterchef for so freaking long and dad, Jeremy and Justin have been talking about basketball. And little me is just sitting here doing nothing. I could've been at home right now watching The Originals and eating Ben & Jerry, but nooo, I have to attend this so called "family dinner". And you know what's so funny about all this? Half of the family isn't even here!

''So, Justin. What's it to live with Megan?'' Dad asks him.

''Honestly? It sucks, she's a control freak. She always has to be in charge, no matter what it is and quite frankly, it's annoying.''

''Yeah, well maybe if you stop being so stupid I would let you be in charge more!'' I fire back.

''I'm not stupid. You just enjoy seeing me miserable. It's probably your life goal, to make the rest of my life a living hell!''

''Oh my, I guess you're not that stupid after all.'' He replies with a glare. He doesn't have a good comeback, that's why he's shutting up.

''I guess I'll just go and pay the check.'' Jeremy says, changing the subject.
