I was fighting a mini boss battle on the 13Th Floor of Aincrad, walking right into a trap that was masked as a EXP. Booster.

EXP. Boosters are relevant to both RPG games and MMOs, commonly used in a style as a pop up quest that is randomly generated throughout the game, going from person to person, some don't ever get to witness the thrill of going after these, while others can barade what they had gained.

Only, I wasn't going to get to do that.

I was in my party when it happened with other late to the party people, who other than me one other person had gotten the quest, there being 5 in total in the party.

"Luis!" Meg called, deflecting a sword attack from one of the skeleton underlings. The mini boss so happened to be a pirate captain with it's crew, which sounds cool at first, until you have to fight them yourselves

"Damn it.." I cursed under my breath, staring into the black sockets of the pirate captain who had no soul, possibly not even an AI, if anything, the developers probably already have long forgotten that it existed.

My Scavier was close to losing it's durability and breaking in half, I'm going have to end this fast. I clashed my weapon against the mini boss's long sword, hearing the satisfying clang of metal hitting against metal

"I need a potion over here!"

"We are gonna have to retreat, Gerin!" Our Party Leader, Gerin swiftly turned around, smacking her Bludger Hammer right into a skeleton's face, her eyes narrowed like a felines staring at her prey as it crumbles into data particles

"I have told you all before, once we enter, we finish what we started!" Gerin was strong and hard-headed, very confident in her capabilities. She was the other one who managed to get the quest for the EXP. Booster. I dodged an incoming attacks from the mini boss, using my peripheral view to stare at Gerin

"Switch out?!" I asked her, noting my HP was dangerously low. She glanced to her upper part of her screen, looking at all of our health. She nodded, dashing over to me before barrel rolling right where I used to be standing. I dashed off, catching hold of the potion Meg had thrown to me before downing it without a second thought, watching as my HP went back up to a safe level

"What are the stats on this, Luis?!" She asked me

"It's a tank, lot of punch but not lot of defense. Strength and Dexterity I estimate it around 25 - 30."

"Damn, a bit overkill for a low level mini boss-!" We we're all in the ranges of level 12s and 15s, the mini boss being level 16 and it's skeleton underlings as level 10s. I jumped back into battle after I caught my back, switching with Meg to give her a break

"If anything, we can always double team it." I pointed out, slicing a skeleton's head clean off of it's bone. Gerin seemed to be thinking while also paying attention to the mini boss's patterns. It really liked to swing below the waist line, trying to immobilize you for an easy killing, "After this, can we all just eat and go to bed?!" Arwin asked in exasperation, finishing off his batch with his Rapier

"I agree, I really need to stock up on arrows!" Quill stated, sniping off skeleton's from a good distance, his HP Bar barely touched below 95

"Luis, let's double team!" Gerin told me quickly. I nodded, running over to her and the mini boss. Quill sniped a skeleton that was running towards me, "There you go bone brains! Merry Christmas!" He smartly remarked

"Don't get to overhead of yourself, bird brain!" Arwin called to him. Quill glanced over at him, shooting another arrow that lightly scraped Arwin, only taking 1 HP off
