Make Your Choice

It's such a sad thing we all face

Those of us in the human race

When someone close has slipped apart

It pains every human heart

There is no drink or pill

That can change our will

To have our loved ones back with us

For just one more night of love or lust

Some don't truly understand it's over

That was May, this is October

The only thing that one should do

Is find another and be true

Many years passed I lost a love

That I thought was destined from above

To stay with me until I passed

But it was young love; it didn't last

Oh how my heart was ripped in two

I had no idea of what to do

I let time go by for quite a while

And tried to wear a smile

Things got better as time passed

My lonely days did not last

But when I first lost love I almost wanted

To give up my life; the pain so haunted

Now I hate sometimes to tell

That I am forty and try to sell

My sad poems that warn of love

But in fact love is a true gift from above

So what I really want to say to you

Is love with your whole heart and be true

Nothing makes life so wonderful and new

As loving someone who loves you

No Use In Hiding

Warm softness waits for me in my bedroom

As I seek my escape from the troubles of the world

Curling up in my blanket, comforter cocoon

To sleep until they have to be unfurled

Is it really wasting my life away

If I want to forever lay in bed

Dreaming of things I once had seems a better way

Than just working for nothing until I'm dead

Oh how I love to curl up

Perhaps with a favourite read

And sweet coffee next to me, a warm cup

As I plant the dreaming seed

I can do so much more in the dream state

I can fly a plane, have new chances with a love that's lost

But there is sometimes a part I hate

I dream often that into war the world is tossed

The bible tells one day the world will end

Hellfire will rain on us and soon

I just like to try and smile and perhaps pretend

I will be somewhere safe perhaps the moon

But in fact I will more likely be in bed

Dreaming dreams, reading and making stories

Living life inside my head

We all must live life like there is no tomorrow

Cherish love and drive off hate

Because it is a fact that gives me sorrow

We all must die one day, it's fate
