"Attachment is forbidden," so says the secret code of the ancient Jedi Order, but why? What was so terrible about it? Would it really hurt? Did these people have no concept of friendship? Compassion? Love? These were questions that had plagued the mind of Anakin Skywalker for some time, and they were all he could think of as he watched her leave.
Ahsoka Tano had been his padawan for almost three years, and in that time, he had come to love her as though she were family. But now, it was over. There she was, walking away, turning her back on the life they had both held so dear, and why? Not because of anything either of them had done, but because of the Republic! Because of the corruption, the treachery within it, and most importantly, because of the Jedi Order itself. In those moments, as Anakin stared out into the open evening, and watched as she walked slowly towards the beautiful sunset, all he wanted was to run to her, and plead with her to stay, but he couldn't. That would be showing "attachment."
